A friend and I are going to WDW this Spring, and we are both on a quest to stay at each hotel at least once. We cannot decide on a hotel, so please pick your favorite from our list of hotels that one of us hasn't stayed in. If we get enough responses, we both agree to let the DIS pick for us.

We would appreciate room/building recommendations, but don't need to be near food courts or bus stops, as we'll have a car.

Thank you!

Did I miss the list? :confused3

If you have the money and love a tropical theme then go with the Polynesian because that's what I voted for. You just can't go wrong with chosing the Poly. :thumbsup2

If you like animals and fantastic bus service then choose AKL my vote :cool1:

My vote goes to the Poly for the comfy rooms, the unbeatable location and convenience, and having the fireworks right in your back yard every night!

It is hard to compare some of the resorts you listed because some are moderates and PC is a value. If money were no object, I would definitely say the Poly, which is the one I voted for. Without a doubt it is my favorite resort and I doubt we will stay anywhere else in the future. To me the others can't compare and it mainly because of its design. The lower buildings and separate lobby (GCH) give the Poly a relaxed atmosphere that none of the others can compare to. I do not like the values or the moderates because they lack a private outdoor space for you to sit and there are always people walking by your window. JMHO Jay

We don't have to worry about the cost. We just can't agree because we both want to stay somewhere we haven't stayed before and the only place we BOTH haven't stayed is the POP.

So, if we don't stay at the POP (which we really should to as it would help us each on our quests - but don't really want to), one of us has to stay somewhere they've already been.

And we won't be taking the bus, so don't have to worry about location except nice/pretty.

We are huge fans of the Polynesian - so that's the way I voted! Mihalo!

I voted for Poly, too. That is my favorite resort. I love the location and its beauty. I also found the Poly staff to be truly outstanding. We were in a lagoon view room in the Fiji building. That was terrific. We also really enjoyed the Kona Cafe for breakfast. The only thing we didn't care for was the snack shop/food court place (I forgot the name).

I think that this is a hard question because what I plan to do on that particular vacation determines which hotel I stay at. I like so many of them for different reasons.

I voted for CSR!!

How long are you staying? If the quest is a big part of the fun, I would spend the first night at POP, then split your stay between one you have not been to and one your friend has not been to.

We'll be at WDW for 5 nights, then 4 at Universal (HRH). So, we already have to switch hotels once and don't want to do it again.

Location doesn't really matter because we will have a car, and know our way around.

I should have known the Poly would win.

Of your list, I chose AKL, but only if it's Savannah View.
Other than that, I would say Poly because I'm dying to see the newly renovated rooms. So even tho I've stayed there before, it would be like a new resort.

We just came back from AKL and found this resort gave us 2 vacations in 1 !!! If you like animals you'll love this resort! The food here is fantastic! Boma's is great! The pool is wonderful! The savannah views can't be beat! Just be prepared to spend alot of time at this resort, b/c if you are animal lovers as my DH and I are, it will be hard to drag youselves to the parks.
My 2nd vote goes to POR. This resort is soooo pretty. All of it's weeping landscaping and cozy little winding paths, lots of quiet pools, the boat to DTD,it's just a very pretty resort and I'd stay there again in a heartbeat, that is if I never experienced AKL! We're stuck on AKL now. If you're looking for something really different the AKL is it! All the resorts are beautiful at WDW, but AKL offers the most unique experience. Where else in America or anyplace other than Africa itself, and have such a view??? Not to mention the unique food choices...you won't be disappointed, I promise! :thumbsup2

I voted for the Polynesian. We loved it there. Getting to MK was a treat. The short walk to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail was wonderful. The pools were fun, being able to see the Castle was great.
My second choice would be AKL. We've only visited there before, but really want to stay at some point.
I plan this way.....if it's a quickie, budget trip, then we stay at POP...love it there.
If it's our main, big family trip of the year, it's Boardwalk Villas on our DVC points.
Or, if I can get a really good AP rate, and I'm not staying for too long, I'll try different deluxes. I have only stayed at POR as for the moderates and love it there.
I too, want to stay in each resort....why, oh why do I keep going back to POP!!!! Next time will be a different moderate. Those photos of CSR really intrigue me.

Ok I chose Saratoga Springs. Why U will be all adults. U will have a car. Its only a boatride to DTD for the nightlife. Its a NEW resort. It is DVC so it will have a kitchenette/kitchen in 1 bedroom (i am assuming studio for U). You can rent from DVC member and pay upfront. and will be able to add the dining plan if U want.

I will be staying there this May and I am on the same resort quest U are on. Of "trying" out as many resorts as I can.

Have a great trip whichever U choose U will be in disney YAY

Do the SS studios have 2 beds? We are friends, but not that kind of friends. Not that there's anything wrong with it, we're just not. :goodvibes

Not that it matters, looks like the Poly is going to beat out the rest.
