Dave - wonderful pictures. So after staying at both OKW and WLV, how do they compare (decor, transportation, room condition, etc.). I'd be curious to get your impressions. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks so much for posting all of you pics. I've taken a look at all of them and they are great!

Great pictures! Thanks for posting.

Thanks so much for the pictures. I can't wait to stay there.

Thanks for sharing Dave! Great job! I have a couple of ??? Was the One bedroom a Lock off (for a two bedroom) I noticed a door inthe main hallway.....
Second What building were you in... I notice there was access from the laundry room into the main bathroom..... What a handy feature!

Thanks again for posting the pics!!! I felt like I was home :-)

Dave,

your pics have made me realize that I can never stay in a studio again!

Excellent photos - thanks!! Cant wait to get to OKW now:cool:
Having laundry facilities is a Godsend!!!!

I cant STAND waiting for Laundry in those Laundry rooms in resorts. I worry too much about leaving my stuff unattended.:Pinkbounc

I am not Dave, but I can share my thoughts on this. We spent a week in a studio at VWL in March of this year. While I loved the lobby of the Resort and the lobby of the DVC building, I can tell you that if you favor a tropical environment, then OKW is your better option. At VWL we loved the boat ride to MK and we loved the boat ride to Fort Wilderness for breakfast at the Trail's End Buffeteria in the mornings, but it was not enough to make me prefer VWL over OKW. I might also add that we had a studio on the first floor and faced the scrubbrush. I just didn't like that. It was also nice at VWL having the WL Resort right there within walking distance. Unfortunately, your first impression is usually the one that stays with you, and we don't like the dark furniture and darkness of the rooms, including the vanity area--lighting just wasn't sufficient. Yes, I would definitely stay at VWL at least once, and I would probably stay there again, just won't be my first choice if given a choice of availability.

Dave,

Thanks for the pics. I want to stay @ OKW now too.

Dave,

You have made me so 'homesick' for OKW! Thanks for posting the pictures. Now I just have to bookmark this thread so I can 'go home again' anytime!:Pinkbounc

VWL has more of a "cozy" feel, with the darker furnishings etc. The furnishings are just as nice, but they are more in the style of a lodge...sort of rustic. OKW,BCV,BWV have a lighter, airier feel to them, which I personally prefer on vacation, especially if I go during the winter months. I live in New England, so I get enough "cozy" in the winter, and if I'm in WDW, I prefer "beachy". I do find that VWL have a very serene feel to them, which I like. IMHO, VWL are great for a quick trip(3 or 4 nights) but one of the others are better for longer trips.

We just got back from OKW...stayed in a 1BR, just DH and I. You do get spolied by the 1BR with the laundry, kitchen etc...makes it hard to go back to a studio;) . Some of the 1BRs have an entrance to the bathroom through the laundry room, and some do not. I want to say that buildings 1-30 have only one entrance to the bathroom, through the master BR. I think that buildings 31 and above have the entrances. Perhaps another DISer/DVCer knows for sure????? If we have someone sleeping on our couch, which we do on occasion, I always request a room with the 2 door bathroom entrance. That way the guest isn't traipsing through your master bedroom everytime they need to use the bathroom.

Thanks for the great photos! It warms my heart to see them.....I love OKW!

Even after many stays at OKW, these pictures still made me say, "WOW!", just like I did on my first stay home.

Thank you so much for making us all a little "home"sick!

Renee

Thanks - wonderful pictures that I saved under favorites to show friends and relatives what they are missing...and boy they made me miss it too!!!

WOW!!! This thread is back up front!!! These pics I took on our first trip home. We stayed only one night in OKW 1BR and also OKW studio. The rest of the time at VWL in a 1BR. I did not find VWL that dark to me. Yes it is darker than OKW and BCV we stayed there last Dec. If search ever works search under my ID on this board, I had posted pics of the OKW studio and VWL 1 BR too. Since we were only there 1 day each we did not have time to use the transportation at OKW and such. One was at the beginning of the stay and the last day of the stay and we had a rental car because we went to Cape Canaveral and Universal also.

just have to say - it's fun to see the pics AND sit on that very love seat and look around the room that the pics are of...

make sense? I'm here NOW in a 1 BR.. we could have stayed anywhere on this trip.. just us two adults this time.. thought about Animal Kingdom, Yacht Club, Grand Floridian...

Suddenly we knew we needed the whirlpool, the parking for the rented convertable Spyder (not minivan), the extra room for him to watch tv late at night, and me to laptop in early in the am...

AH - home!!
