I'm sure that the price of piano lessons can vary in different parts of the country and with other factors such as the experience of the teacher, but what would a ballpark figure be for doing piano lessons per month? Please also state how long each lesson is, as a 30 minute lesson should cost less than a 60 minute lesson. TIA!

Here pretty much all music lessons are $30 per half hour. I've never seen any cheaper, and some cost more. Edited to add, I live in a NJ suburb 8 miles from NYC, and $30 is for those who give lessons out of their homes - studios are more.

We're in the Chicagoland area, and DD10's viola lessons are $20 per half hour. Before that, her piano lessons were also $20/half hour.

You may want to check at local churches to see if the pianist provides lessons. We've always done better going with individual professionals instead of through music stores.

I pay $20 for a 30 minute session. This is in a suburban area outside a city. I go to a person who does it on the side out of her home. $20 seems to be the rate for this type of teacher. If I went to a music studio, I think it runs about $30 for the half hour.

I pay $20 an hour to a college student for dd (8). This girl does them out of her family's home. I live in Central IL.

We're in Knoxville, TN and we have a GREAT guy that comes to our house 1 day per week and charges $20 for a 30 minute lesson ($80 per month). He teaches my DS9 piano and my DS11 guitar. Altogether, I pay him $160 per month for both kids. He comes on Friday afternoons. If there are more than 4 Fridays in a month we get those lessons for free. Also, he's very flexible if we need to change the day of the week for other plans.

I pay $100/month for piano, but that is for two children, so I think I get a discount. (30 min lessons).

My son's lessons with professional players (saxophone, but the studio charges the same for all instruments) run about $21 for 30 minutes. However, his friend recently had a lesson with the guy who plays guitar for Steely Dan -- $100 for a 45-minute lesson!!!!! It was worth it, because his friend is planning to become a professional jazz guitarist.

I pay $180 for each season of lessons, that is for 10 30 minute lessons.

I pay $25 for a 1/2 hour lesson. I bring my kids to the piano teacher's house. If I opted to have her come to our house, then lessons would be $30 for a 1/2 hour.

drum lessons for DS at a studio are $24 for 30 minutes. He did take piano lessons, but that is 10 years ago now....but then the piano teacher came to the house for a 60 minutes lesson for $20.

I am just outside of Charlotte, NC. I pay $25 for an hour lesson. It is in the teacher's home.

DD also takes voice lessons. Those are $35 for an hour lesson in the teacher's home. (Different teachers)
