Hey Ladies!!

Happy Monday! I am home sick today.. :headache:  . I won't go into too much detail but let's just say I've been having some stomach issues where food doesn't like to stay in my body. :rolleyes1 In addition, I keep passing out?! Everything goes dark, I have to sit/lay down, I don't know what's going on.. :confused3 Any idea what this whole passing out thing is? It's happend 4 times :guilty:

Sadly, DFiance couldn't stay home and won't be home till 10:30pm tonight :sad1: So I will be here most of the day.

I hope everyone has a nice day!! Please, keep me in your thoughts- I forgot how unfun it is to have a stomach ache.

Rora, I just saw your post. I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling so sick. :sad2: I really hope that you feel better soon. We can do the virtual trip thing another day. Take it easy and get lots of rest. I'll be praying for you.

Thanks Tigger!! What are your plans for today!!

BTW- thanks so much for the mysterynet link! That's so cool! I will have to go check it out!

Hi Rora! I don't really have any plans for today..........except work. :headache:  Unfortunately, I need to get going now, but I'll be on again in the afternoon. I hope you feel better soon. :flower3: TTFN!

ETA: Maybe some hot ginger tea may help. I don't know if this would really work for the illness that you've got, but I think that it's worth a shot. Ginger tea really does work wonders for so many ailments!

:lmao: That'd be sooooo funny!! I dare you to actually do that!! :rotfl:

I'm planning on going to MNSSHP. Can you imagine if I showed up dressed like him? :lmao:

Yup, that's right! The countdown is in single digits now. :woohoo:

4 days!

How's it going so far?

Saturday was one of the...strangest days of my life. I had fun but it was just...odd. There was something in the air that day. I'll explain after the quoting.

As for me, I would like to go to Italy, Greece, Israel, Egypt, Prince Edward Island, Costa Rica, China, the Bahamas (as well as other Caribbean Islands), and New York. Since this is a fantasy trip, I'm pretending that there are no conflicts in any part of the world and that it is safe to travel anywhere.

Italy and Greece :thumbsup2 NYC is like my backyard but I love it all the same. I've been to the Bahamas and it's gorgeous, but I have to say I like the private islands there better (each cruise ship has their own). I don't like Nassau. People kept trying to sell me drugs there! Our DCL ship stops there and I'm trying to decide whether or not to go to Atlantis or just stay on the ship...

I hope you feel better!! My stomach hurt this morning when I woke up too but it's feeling better now. Maybe it's something you ate? Just take it easy, especially since you're passing out!

I'll be on and off today so I can keep you company :) Things look pretty slow right now.

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope that you all had a great weekend.

I found a great site that has a lot of different mysteries to solve. The link below automatically takes you to one of them, but if you click on "online mysteries" you can find many more. Happy sleuthing!

http://www.mysterynet.com/solveit/

Not really into mysteries? Well please do me a favor and help me name our watch dog and our cats. You can see the pictures of them on the first page in the "sorority house staff" post. The names can be silly or conventional. Have fun! :)

Jenny, since you're a travel consultant, you can help us take care of our travel arrangements. ;) I hear that the Carmen San Diego tour company is really good. :rolleyes1

I'll have to check out that link later.

That would be such a great name for a travel agency! :rotfl: Carmen San Diego Travel! I better not say that when I pick up my phone!

Happy Monday girls! I'm glad this week is a 4 day work week. It's just me and one other person today and it's s-l-o-w so far.

My Disney trip is all paid off! Just paid it this morning! Now all I have to do is wait...impatiently. :rolleyes1

Saturday went by in a blur. It was our travel fair and I was floating around between that and being in the front of the office. It was not busy but still fun and interesting...

My table was next to the Royal Caribbean rep. He took a liking to me right off the bat. He was chatting me up all day and I really didn't think much of it. Then I heard he was asking my co-workers about me, including a co-worker I'm pretty close with who works at the cruise ports on the weekends. The RC rep saw him yesterday at the port and was grilling him about me. :sad2: Not one of my co-workers told this guy I had a boyfriend. Great. He was nice enough but I'm not interested! Next time he's at the office should be a fun day.

On Saturday, they had gotten sandwiches for us for lunch, but I had seen the pizza guy walk in so I knew the techs had ordered pizza. I had a craving for that so I went back to steal a slice. Where was the pizza, you ask? In JB's little shop area. He was watching me like a hawk when I was back there. We had a little conversation, which resulted in me calling him a smartass (he is!) and his co-workers cracking up and him being shocked I said that. It was too funny. The look on his face was priceless.

The Rangers/Flyers played on Saturday and my friend (we'll call him G), who I've known for about 7 or 8 years, is from Philadelphia. We always taunt each other via text during these games. Well, he must've been a little tipsy on Saturday because he was saying things that...maybe he should've kept to himself. We met in college and we weren't an item but we were really attracted to each other and really liked one another. He was one of my favorite people at school and one of the few I've kept in touch with. I saw him a few months ago when we met up for lunch when I was in Philly for the day. That was the first time I'd seen him in years and I didn't think anything was still there....apparently, I was wrong. I'm not going to repeat what he said but I was surprised, to say the least.

Was there something in the water that day? :confused3 All these guys just started coming out of the woodwork!! This always seems to happen when you're with somebody and not single. What's up with that?

Thankfully, today has been uneventful!

Sorry things are slow!! Hey, at least you aren't swamped!

Aww! Lucky! When are you leaving again? Any ADRs?

Oh Jenny.. how do you get all these men to fall for you?

Again, how Jenny, how?! You're a man magnet! :woohoo: :rotfl:
Was there something in the water that day? :confused3 All these guys just started coming out of the woodwork!! This always seems to happen when you're with somebody and not single. What's up with that?
So true-- sometimes, even though you love the person you're with, you're like "gosh-- why didn't you come out with these feelings a little earlier!?!" but then, we must remind ourselves, our significant others are waaayyy better. :lovestruc :cloud9:
Thankfully, today has been uneventful!
Good!!

I'm just about to start some housework- I laid down for a little and watched Jon and Kate Plus 8.. WOW! I don't think I could ever handle having 8 kids! :headache:

I'm not going until September 20. And then I have 9 glorious nights there! Well, 6 at WDW and 3 on the ship. I can't make ADRs until June 22 but any suggestions? I want to try some new places!

I don't know what's up with all these guys! My friend used to say I put a 'trance' over guys. :rotfl: I really don't do anything special! I'm a bit of a dork, I think. So :confused3

Jon & Kate...wow, I've watched some clips of that show on the Soup. She is a monster!! I feel sorry for that poor guy!!

Don't do housework if you're not feeling well!

Sept. 20?! That's kinda soon!! I mean, it seems like it's forever away since it's Disney but think of all the time you have for planning!! :lmao:

What ship are you on? Are you just going to the Bahamas? Disney ships are the coolest ever- make sure you go to all the activities you can!

As far as ADRs go-- which parks are you going to and what places have you already been? Then we can start thinking!

 Hey- it's always nice to have lots of guy friends! :thumbsup2

She is pretty scary!! They must have tons of money.. she feeds her kids all organic and they do all these ridiculous activites! I guess it pays to have a TV show on TLC! :rolleyes1
Don't do housework if you're not feeling well!
Bah.. I should though. Still haven't gotten around to it yet :rolleyes1 :headache:

I'll be on the Wonder. Yes, we are going to the Bahamas. I'm excited to go to Castaway Cay but I've been to Nassau before and I didn't care for it. That might be a stay on the ship and chill day.

I'm going to ALL the parks of course! :) I've been to San Angel Inn, Sci-Fi Diner, Coral Reef, 50's Prime Time (which I'm pretty sure we'll do again, we love it), T-Rex Cafe, Yak & Yeti and I think that's it!! We usually do sit down dining for lunch since it's less expensive. If you have any place that is a can't miss, please let me know!

I was on the Wonder my last cruise. I love love love Castaway Cay.. one of the ship's CMs was like "Uhh.. you need to get back to the ship- We're going to be leaving soon" :rolleyes1 . I could've stayed there all day. :rotfl2:

I am not a fan of Nassau either- I will get off the ship to go to the strawmarket and buy knockoff handbags for presents for my DCousins and mom but after that I'm done. We typically stay on the ship for Nassau days-- definitely take the time to enjoy the Wonder! :worship:

You've been to all the resturants I love! Let's see.. Le Cellier was fantastic, I love Sunshine Seasons even though it's counter service, never been to the Brown Derby but I hear it's great! Also, I love the Garden Grove at the Swan for character meals-- it's hidden away and it's so fun!

Other than that- you've hit all the places I like! :woohoo:

Stop having a boring tuna, stop having a boring life!

Last time I was in Nassau, I walked from the ship to Senor Frogs. As I was walking back, someone tried to sell me cocaine. So Nassau left a bad taste in my mouth. We were thinking of doing the Atlantis excursion but it's pricey so it's looking like a day to just hang out on the ship. Which I have no problem with!

The counter service place I love is Pecos Bill's in Magic Kingdom. I love the toppings bar!!

:scared1: Scary about your cocaine experience!! Everytime I'm there they all yell "Braid your hair, pretty girl??!" and I practically have to fun away..

We considered the Atlantis excursion too but then decided against it since it was so pricey. Plus, like I said before, we really are ship people! :thumbsup2

You know what? I've never been to Pecos Bill's!! Ever. In all my 23 years of Disney World-ing. :rolleyes1

Just a quick update on my icky sickness:
I haven't passed out/blacked out again which is been fantastic! :woohoo: And have been doing work in little steps. I think I am about done for the day, which will be wonderful and certainly something to celebrate. :rotfl:

DFiance surprised me and came home for lunch. He made me eat a scrambled egg. I HATE eggs. But I guess it was good to eat something other than Eggos which is what I've been living on since Saturday. :thumbsup2

You have to go! We discovered it during our last trip and absolutely love it now! What/where is Sunshine Seasons?

I'm glad you haven't been blacking out anymore! That's scary. I passed out a couple times before and it's freaky, waking up a few minutes later and being like 'what just happened?' Glad you're feeling a little bit better! :thumbsup2

It's in EPCOT and it's basically cafeteria style. In the building where Soarin' and Living with the Land is.. the name escapes me at the moment. It's so good! It's like the must-eat place for me at EPCOT which is strange considering all the great places to eat in EPCOT.

Yeah! It is scary-- last time (before this weekend) that I passed out was when I went to Bikram Yoga with a couple of friends-- it's the yoga that's at least 100 degrees. I don't know why I went but I was there for probably 5min, did some yoga poses and proceeded to pass out.. Maybe it's the Southern Belle heritage in me..

I would definitely have passed out at that yoga too! Or ran out of the room before it could happen!

I'll have to check that place out. We always stop at Soarin' but I've never seen that place. I've only noticed the Garden Grill.

Oh, have you ever been to the Food and Wine festival? Based on last year's dates it looks like I'll catch the beginning of it.

Oh, have you ever been to the Food and Wine festival? Based on last year's dates it looks like I'll catch the beginning of it.
I have!!

I didn't drink the wine but some of the food was fantastic!! It is pretty pricey but I think you can find a list/menu around the DIS (or maybe on WDWINFO.COM) that has all the vendors and what food is sold. Before we went, we looked at this list and decided what we wanted to try. Then we alloted just enough cash for snacks in EPCOT. It worked out really well!

But, if you want to go all out and eat everything- I certainly wouldn't make an ADR that day! :rotfl:

I read about it on the website and saw the menu & their prices for last year. Everything is pretty much between $2-$5 so it's not all that bad. I could get a little meal out of that ;) I saw one of the menus had cheddar cheese soup on it! Never tried but I hear it's amazing!

What did you try there?

Hi everyone! I hope that you're all having a great day. Sorry, but I wasn't able to come on the DIS as early as I thought I was going to.

 :scared1:

That's awful!! I've heard that the drug problem has gotten pretty bad in several areas. :sad2: Will you be stopping anywhere else in the Bahamas? If so, maybe you should just stay on the ship when the boat docks in Nassau.

My Disney trip is all paid off! Just paid it this morning! Now all I have to do is wait...impatiently. :rolleyes1

Congrats!!! :cheer2:

Wow, guys, guys, guys! ;) Your co-workers should have told him that you already have a boyfriend. Why didn't they?

How convenient that the techs ordered pizza on the day you were craving it. :rolleyes1 That's cool that you got to talk to JB. Yup, he definitely seems to like you. Hey, that's good that they didn't object to the fact that you were stealing some pizza! :rotfl:

Wow, you've had a VERY eventful weekend, Jenny! Geez, you're really on a roll. You should publish a book on how to attract men. It'll be a best-seller for sure! :thumbsup2 Well, I hope that the guy from you past understands and isn't too hurt. As for what was in the water..........Honu and I have joked that Mezzo Mix is the "elixir of love". Maybe these guys have been downing a few bottles. :lmao: Just kidding. Some girls just have that certain je ne sais quoi that men can't resist and you've obviously got it. Congrats! You're one of the lucky ones! :thumbsup2

Woohoo! That'll be here before you know it. :cool1:

I'm still a WDW newbie, but I've gleaned a lot of info from the Restaurants board. I actually have a list of places that I want to try the next time I go to WDW. I'll look for the list later today.

Just a quick update on my icky sickness:

Oh, have you ever been to the Food and Wine festival? Based on last year's dates it looks like I'll catch the beginning of it.

I went to the F&W festival in 2007. It was a lot of fun. My family and I tried to eat at least one thing from every single booth. We almost succeeded. :rolleyes1

I tried the cheddar cheese soup at the festival. I'm not wild about it like some other DISers are, but I still enjoyed it. I still have the list of all the things that we ate. I'll look for that, too. Just to let you know, the food list changes every year.

Here are the places that I'd like to try based on the reviews that I've seen here on this board:

Ohana's (for breakfast, California Grill, Wolfgang Puck Express, Earl of Sandwich, Tangierine Cafe, Whispering Canyon (?), Chef Mickey's (for breakfast), Crystal Palace (I don't really care about the food....I just want to see Tigger!), Tusker House, Boma, Tutto Italia, Main Street Bakery, Beaches and Cream, Ghirardelli's, Biergarten (Soarin said it was really good), and Sci Fi (We were going to eat there on our last trip, be we had to cancel our ADR at the last minute.)

There may be a few other places, but I can't think of them right now. I had to type this from memory because I couldn't find my list. I'd better find it before our next trip!!

You can find the food booth list on this site or on allears.net. I printed out the food booth list before we left for our trip. Here's what we tried (FYI, we shared some dishes). No drinks, just food!

Causa de Cangrejo- yellow potato mash with crab salad (Peru)

Arroz con Pato - roast duck with cilantro rice (Peru)

Cheddar Cheese Soup (Canada)

Spanakopita- spinach and cheese pastry (Greece)

Greek Salad with Pita Bread (Greece)

Pecan Pie (Oklahoma - Route 66)

Kefta - grilled beef and hummus in a pita pocket (Morocco)

Crispy Sukiyaki Beef Roll (Japan)

California Sushi Roll (Japan)

Spicy Tuna Roll (Japan)

Cabbage Rolls with Spiced Beef (Poland)

Kielbasa and Potato Pierogies (Poland)

Lasagna al Forno (Italy)

Spaetzel with Creamy Mushroom Ragout (Germany)

Samosa with Tamarind Sauce - spicy pea and potato pastry (India)

Chilaquiles - baked torillas with chicken and cheese (Mexico)

Tomatican con Manchego - tomato, corn and garbanzo bean stew with manchego cheese (Chile)

Yeah......we had a REALLY good time at the F&W festival. :rolleyes1 There were a few other dishes that we wanted to try, but we were just too stuffed.
