Pi Beta Alpha -- Hand over the purple and no one will get hurt.

Yes! Those.. Have you seen the ones with Whoopi, David Beckham, Beyonce, Scarlett Johansen? Zac Effron and Vanessa Hudgens?

I've only seen the Jennifer and Marc and the Scarlett and Beyonce ones. I didn't know that they had that many! I'll look the others up later on. I really like the Jennifer and Marc one. :goodvibes

I wish that some of the others were here so that we could throw you a proper "Yay! Rora found her wedding dress" party. (No, I haven't forgotten about that!) Hey, if you want, we can have a little "tea for two" party and discuss your wedding. Or we could celebrate by going on a virtual trip. A shopping trip or a Hawaiian vacation, perhaps? Or how about a field trip to IKEA? What do you think?

I am up for any of that!!! Tea for Two would be great or a virtual vacation!!

Your choice!! :)

Well, we've been talking a lot about tea lately so...........let's continue with that theme! :teeth:

Here's the tea set. Should I get something fancier?

Oooh, I love this one!!!! :)

What a fantastic tea set!! It's perfect!!

Let's see.. what do we need to discuss. I know-- FLOWERS. Tigger, I'm torn.. I want roses but they're so expensive. I want soft, pretty, romantic looking flowers.. any ideas?

Thanks! I'll get some sandwiches and other goodies in a minute. :thumbsup2

Roses are really pretty, but there are so many other pretty flowers. How about some sort of lily? Here's a bouquet idea (pretend that those brownish, stringy things at the bottom of the bouquet aren't there).

Those are very, very pretty.. I want white flowers for me and then I think lightish pink and white for the bridesmaids. I didn't even consider lily's! Good thinking, Tigger!!

Since you have good wedding ideas, can you think of a good, kinda inexpensive, wedding favor?? We are stuck- I was thinking maybe a cookie buffet? Like, I'd have all my family make a bunch of different types of cookies together one day (pass it off as a fun wedding event!) and then set all of the cookies out.. get nice white boxes with a pretty pink label and bow and allow our guests to pack up cookies and take them home..Does that sound weird?

I brought some tea sandwiches!

Those don't look nearly as pretty as yours!!

Aren't these cookies adorable? :)

mini%20tea%20cookies%20victorian.jpg
So cute!! That makes my cookie buffet idea even better- instead of making the cookies, I can get them made by professionals and make them all pretty!!! But, I bet that'd cost me and arm and a leg. :rolleyes1

I brought the classy, tea party hat!!

I'll keep thinking of more flower ideas. :thumbsup2 You mentioned that you were allergic to some flowers. Which ones were they again? Oh, and which flowers are reasonably-prices where you live? You can get some bouquet ideas by putting together some relatively inexpensive flowers.

I think that the cookie idea is cute! People always love things that they can eat. I know I do!! Oooh, you know what? I saw an article not too long ago that gave some great ideas about nice, yet inexpensive wedding favors. I'll see if I can find it. :thumbsup2

I sneeze when there are gardenia's near-by. Which is so sad because I love them..

Honestly, I don't know much about reasonbly priced flowers in my area. I just know I like the pretty ones. :lmao: I would assume the tropical ones considering I am in the semi-tropic area.. North Florida if that helps at all.

Stop having a boring tuna, stop having a boring life!

It'd be so cool if you could do that! However, like you said, if you're trying to save money it's probably not a good idea. I wonder if they have some sort of discount for large orders.............:confused3

I brought the classy, tea party hat!!
purple_hat.jpg

Love the hat! :goodvibes That reminds me...... My mom and I had tea at a little tea room once. Near the entrance of the place, there was a rack full of fancy hats and feather boas to wear while having tea! It was so cool!

Here are some pecan tassies!

Question: Do you want a small bouquet or a large, hanging bouquet?

Here are more ideas.

I don't think that this was the article that I saw, but it does have some good ideas.

It's going OK. I'm almost done with the quiz. I'll probably post it later tonight. If not, then definitely tomorrow. :thumbsup2 The siggie pictures are harder. I may need to get some help from on of the DISers on the DISigners board. I wish that I was better at this kind of thing! :headache:

Here's another lovely bouquet. These are white orchids. Unfortunately, orchids can be pricey, too. They're so pretty, though!

Sorry you have to go. Boo to having to wake up early! :headache: You're welcome for the tea party and stuff. This was fun! We should definitely do this again some time. Anytime you have wedding plans to discuss, just let me know and I'll break out the tea set! :thumbsup2 Good night! :wave2:

I'm glad that you're doing OK. :goodvibes I think that we all are ready for a vacation. We need to go on a virtual trip or something.

How are things with the Twilightaholics?

Twilightaholics are crazy as always! LOL We're all going crazy waiting for the movie to come out! A few have cheated and viewed the outtakes online, but a few of us are holding out and it's bugging the bejesus out of us! haha Virtual trip...I'm totally up for it!! Heck yeah! :cool1:

Rora- LOVE Your wedding dress!! It is gorgeous. I'm sure you'll look stunning in it.

Mom and I went dress shopping for her this past weekend. We're going on a cruise for my parents' 30th wedding anniversary in May and she wanted a simple dress to wear for vow renewal. She was thinking tea length, and I made her try on this gorgeous dress (she didn't want to at first, said it was too long) and it ended up being totally her! Longer and flowy and the fabric overlay was flowery and perfect for a cruise! She bought it!

Hey Minnie!

Have you cheated or are you still holding out? :rotfl: When does the movie come out?

Yeah, we've definitely got to go on another virtual trip one of these days. Where would you like to go? Hawaii? A mall? IKEA? :teeth:

An anniversary cruise sounds fun! I hope that you guys have a great time. I'm glad that you were able to guide your mom to the right dress. :thumbsup2

Sorry, Rora, I wasn't able to find out the name of that flower.

Could any sorority sisters or lurkers help us out? It's the bouquet in the bottom left-hand corner. Thanks!

An update on the quiz........

OK, here's the deal. I finished the quiz earlier this evening. After I finished editing the quiz, I went to click on "preview". A little sign popped up that said, "Error in preview". I went back to see if I had done anything wrong. It was all OK, so I tried again. I still couldn't preview it. I just decided to submit/publish the quiz and edit it later if I needed to. When I hit the button, a little sign popped up that said, "Error, this quiz cannot be published at this time." :headache: I tried again. Same thing happened. I decided to sign out and sign back in again. I went back to my quiz and saw that it had changed back to the pre-editing version. What the heck??? I made sure to click on "save as a draft" before I logged off the first time. (Is this story confusing to you yet? I sure am confused!!) I decided to open up another window and do the quiz over again. When I finally finished, I saved the draft and went to preview. Of course, I couldn't. I went to publish the quiz. Again, I couldn't. I did the log out/log back in thing again.....AND SAW THAT THE NEW QUIZ WAS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing in my saved draft file was the old, unedited quiz!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE????????????????????????? :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:

Anyway, I decided to forget the whole thing and call it a night. I emailed the Quizilla people and told them about my dilemma. Hopefully I'll get a response from them tomorrow. If I do, I'll probably try again. If not, forget it! I know, I know..........there are worse problems in the world. BUT I'M STILL TICKED OFF!!!!!

OK, thanks for letting me vent. I feel better now. :teeth:

It's Trivia Thursday!

We needs to be edumacated, girls!! (No, those weren't typos. ;)) Feel free to post random trivia questions, useless or semi-useful information, funny Latin phrases ('cause we need to get all cultured 'n' stuff, ya know!), or anything else that strikes your fancy. This is also the day to share recipes! I'll post the recipes for my afternoon tea goodies later today. :thumbsup2

Have a great day!
:)

Latin phrase of the week:

Noli me vocare, ego te vocabo.

(Don't call me, I'll call you.)

Did you know......

An apple, a potato and an onion will all taste the same if you eat them while holding your nose. They all taste sweet.

(OK, now I can't believe this one. I'll probably try it later today to see if it's true. :lmao:)

ETA: Hey, I just noticed that I'm the 100th poster on this thread! :cheer2:
