Photshop Contest 11-19 to 11-25

This weeks chalange is Filters. You may use the photo below or one of your choosing. It would be nice if your photo could be Disney related, but is not a requirement. You must post the before and after photos if you use one of your own.

Photos may be cropped, framed, whatever you wish to do in your editing, as long as you have applied at least 1 filter to it.

Also, please post your comments or suggestions in the Photoshop Contest Help thead, I want this to be fun and a good learning experience for as many as we can make it.

Did a quick, minor Levels adjustment and created a panning effect by applying a Motion filter.

Thanks. Trust me, I just got lucky with that effect!

I ran this one through photomatix to archive the HDR look, added a velvia film filter to it and this is what I got.

When you say "ran through Photomatix", is that the Photomatix plugin for Photoshop? I tried Photomatix Pro and coudn't find any way to get it to work on just a single image...

It was the pro version. To use a jpg image you have to convert it to tiff format, also I had to make three versions of the original each with a different exposure, ranging from -2 to +2. If this was a raw image, the program would automatically change the exposures.

Got you - I'll give it a try when I get home. One further quick Q, if I may. How do I chance the brightness of a picture by a known number of stops? I understand that I can take it down, say, 50 in Photoshop, but does that "50" mean 1 stop?

I'm not sure if you have the exact option in your version of photoshop to change exposure, I'm using CS3 and there is a specific exposure adjustment that uses the +/- 1 to 20 stops. I guess you could just adjust the brightness levels and see how that works out

I used photoshop 7 - 3 filters - first watercolor, then craquelure, then film grain.
