Hi! We are going to Disney in less than one month and we have always pre-purchased the photopass cd and divided the cost between our 3 families. What is the difference between photopass and photpass plus? I'm not sure which one to purchase? If you get photpass plus does it include the pics from Character breakfasts, without having to purchase in restaurant or do you still have to do that anyway regardless of which package you pick. I'm just trying to decide if photpass plus is a better savings? We have always went with regular cd. Also if you go with photopass plus is there a special card you have to use, that would be a problem since we have 3 families that split up during the day. Thanks for help!

Photopass plus includes select ride and dining photos. You only get one Plus card but if you go to a ride without the card and note the number of the ride photo, you can return later and have it added. Preorder for plus is $149, so if you are doing just one character meal (where the price is not included in the meal), it would be worth it.

There are 3 of my families going and we each have reservations at Ohana. One family has bibbidy bobbidy boutique, CRT and such princess experiences. One family has preteens would thoroughly enjoy rides! It seems that the photopass plus is the way to go, I just want to make sure I can get all pics on one account if we are separated. For regular photopass we just took a picture of the back of the photopass card with our phones and entered them into the computer when we got home! All the pics were there.
If there is a special card, can I keep card with me and each family have a pic of the back of the card to use at different locations or get a new seperate card at character meal and I can add it to the plus card?

Thanks for your help!

You can still add as many regular photopass cards as you want. As for the plus card, I do not know if you can take a picture of the plus card and use it successfully. I haven't heard any reports one way or another, maybe someone else can chime in to answer. This is from the FAQ:

Q. I have a large familyhow many Disney PhotoPass+ cards will I receive?
R. Only one Disney PhotoPass+ card will be provided with each purchase. However, multiple PhotoPass cards can be accumulated during your visit, and all of those photos can be added to your account. In order to receive your Attraction and Dining photos, the PhotoPass+ card holder must be present at the time of photo capture.

If the families will be splitting up to the point that they will be in completely different parks on different days, then Photopass+ might be difficult to coordinate. The only way you can add the ride photos is by getting the photo# and returning to the ride within 48 hours. As for CRT, that photo package is included in the price of the meal, so they would not need the plus card for that. Not sure about the BBB photo. It may be included already, as well.

We will be splitting up in different parks on some of the days. We will be there for a week and are only scheduled to be in same park 4 of the 7 days. So there 3 days when at least one family will not be in same location BUT if one family is in different park, i think the next day the other family will be in the park to get the ride on the pass, unless they can just take a pic of the ride# and have it added to photopass plus card?

Can you get a second card? What happens if you loose the card? I always take pics of the back of my card to ensure i don't loose it! (I usually don't loose it if I have a picture of it, If I don't take a pic of the back of my card it is almost a guarantee that I will loose it! :rotfl:

You can't get another card without paying for it. If you loose it I assume they would cancel the first card and give you another. Ride photos are in the system for 48 hours so your plan should work.

Unfortunately, you can only get one Photopass+ card, but you can still have an unlimited amount of regular Photopass cards in addition to your plus card, so if you can get the plus card to them for at least the Ohana meals, it is still worth the price for the plus, even if you don't get all of the ride photos that are taken.

Ok i will be the one to purchase the photpass card and have it delivered to my house and ultimately be the one in charge of all the photos. If I have the card and I am in the same park with my brother, can I give him the card to take with him and his little princesses to their character experience or do I personally have to be there for them to put pictures on card

Can you tell me your theory, in how just one character meal will make buying the $150 photopass plus worth it? Im just curious. I have done the photopass plus and am a big fan of it, but have also done the character meal. We got the pics, they were a $15 charge. How does one meal make a $150 pass worth it??

See that makes me nervous! I would hate to have them cancel pictures that were already on card, I have no problem handing the card over to my super reliable sister but it is my ultra flaky SIL that i'm worried about, when she has the card for her breakfast at Ohanas!

Our schedules coordinate close enough but there will have to be some passing around of the card to ensure everyone gets there pictures from their special events!

I've never heard of a dining photo for $15. Generally they are $35. You could preorder the regular Photopass for $120 or the plus for $150. Preordering the plus would be cheaper than the regular card and the cost of one dining photo.

Where do I find information on which photopass plus locations are included? The extra PLUS picture spots? Like Ohana's, Test Track etc

If you get the regular photopass preorder for $120 and do just one character meal with a photo package that you get charged for (closer to $30, not $15) you would be spending $150 anyway. Then you get all your ride photos which are normally around $15 each, and and other restaurant photo packages, so that is why I said plus is worth it.

When my grown daughters and I went to Disneyland for my daughter's half marathon run, I got the photopass plus for Disneyland (preorder price for Disneyland photopass plus was the same price as the regular photopass CD which cannot be preordered for Disneyland). And for the first time in my life, I lost my photopass plus card. Luckily, I took a picture of the back of my card and went to the photopass shop and they were able to issue me a new one (with the same expiration date; the plus pictures - rides and character dining - can only be taken within 14 days of actually getting the card. Preordering gets you a voucher that you turn in for the card). They transferred the pictures already taken to the new card - I did have to go back later in the day to transfer the pictures from the old card that were taken just before I lost it and hadn't shown up in the account yet so I didn't lose any of the the pictures that were already taken.
While I was getting the new photopass plus card, my daughters went on a ride that had pictures. As soon as I got the new card, I texted them the number of the new card and they gave it at the photo spot for that ride.

So I am wondering if when we go to WDW I could just give my teenaged son the number on our photopass plus card, if I buy this, and he could apply it to a ride photo that he may have taken without me there? (rather than me having to return within 48 hours with the card to the ride) This would be much easier, I think...
