I am new to Photoshop and have some questions. I will be so grateful for any direction. I've spent a lot of time trying to figure this out myself, but am stumped.

1) If I have a t-shirt design with another family's name on it, how can I select the text and then replace it with my family's name.

2) I have autograph pages that were designed to be printed at 4x6. I am making 8x8 autograph scrapbooks. I want to enlarge the image to 8x8, but of course it is distorted. On the autograph page is a border, a picture of the character and the character's name. Is there a way to select the objects separately and resize them? I'm specifically having trouble with the picture of the character. The others may be okay without being resized.

I have no idea how simple or difficult this is or if it is even possible. I've looked through many tutorials. Maybe you can even direct me to the right tutorials.

Thanks for any info you can share with me!!

1) Is the file you have a .JPG or a .PSD? If it's a jpg, then you can't separate the various elements and just remove the text layer, but if it's a psd file it might still have its layers. Of course, it might have been flattened too (all the layers smooshed together :) , I mean).

Sorry, this is probably as clear as mud :lmao:

Is the family's name over a graphic, or just over a solid colour background? Could you post it here?

2) You can make a 4 x 6 into a 8 x 8 by increasing the CANVAS size -- not "image size". Make sure your background colour is black first, or a colour that matches your image. This doesn't increase the size of the images however, just adds a border to bring the image to the size desired. Another idea, to avoid distortion and make it bigger -- resize it like you did, but not to 8x8 but just to 6 x 8. Then increase the canvas size just on the 6 inch size and see if you like how that looks :)

I hope this helps, even a little :)
