Photos of Layouts?

I posted this on the virtual scrapbook thread but didn't get any answers so I thought I would post a new thread!

I need some picture taking tips. I am almost finished with my first scrapbook and tried to take some pictures of the layouts. They came out horrible! All fuzzy and I can't get them in good close up (either too close or too far). I have a digital Kodak if that helps. All of you ladies who have posted such great shots of your layouts, let me in on your secret!

I don't know if my shots are great, but I have a Kodak digital camera, so I'll try!

I put the pages on our kitchen table, which is next to a bay window, so it gets lots of light. I try to stand right above the page and get it as straight as possible. Then on the Kodak software I "enhance" the picture and it brightens it if it is too dark. I crop it as close as I can and save. Hope this helps!
