Photos are good straight to printer, but not from thumb drive or memory card

I just installed my scrapbook photo software (Creative Memories Memory Manager), which has improved the quality of my Picturemate photos as I was getting grainy images in flesh tones. When printed straight from computer to printer through Epson Film Factory software, photos are fab, but, when an original copy is exported to thumb drive which is then attached via USB on printer or with mem card directly in printer, the photos are terrible! I have all grainy images - nothing that I've seen before.

I am so perplexed and disappointed as I use the half page print setting on my Picturemate all of the time for my scrapbook albums, and it's only accessible from the printer.

Does anyone have any idea what the deal could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

just a first guess without knowing the software..

Maybe it is adjusting the photos during import?
It is very easy to see major color differences between programs. Pick one program, to learn for a while. Managing programs are nice and have some beginner editing tools. But I suggest you start using a more dedicated program. Photoshop for a ton of money. Photoshop elements is under $100 US and does almost all of full photoshop. Paint shop pro is about the same as elements. And (I think the name is) Gimp freeware has been getting suggested here as well...

Are you using the software to "export" the images to the memory card/flash drive, or are you copying the file directly? If you are "exporting" the picture, it may be compressing the picture and resizing it to make it smaller - basically it makes the picture good for emailing, but lousy for printing.

Try copying the file directly (find it using windows and copy it, don't use the software program to do it) and see if your quality is any better.

I've never used your program before- it's just a guess.
