Photopass

No not yet, but as soon as I have the spare cash I am going to :)

It is our honeymoon, so just the two of us, and it would be nice to have some photos of both of us that are not:
> Arm's length shots
> Taken by another tourist for whom the basic principles of photo taking seem to escape (sorry, dont mean to sound rude, I am a photographer so very picky about my photos).

You must order it if this is honeymoon! Those pictures will have so much value to you, always! Get as many taken as possible. :goodvibes

Just be aware that the photopass photographers are not professionals as such and while most photos will be good there will be some bad as well.

We have a lot taken and the same shots done on different days so we get a better chance of the photo we want.

Thanks for that

I have read that already so am preparing myself not to be too critical... however since they have preview lcd screen on the back of the camera I might ask to take a quick look before we walk away from the photographer... :)

If you set the camera first so it is ready and briefly ask the person if they can try and fill the frame or whatever it is you want for that shot I am sure it would be fine. If you ask nicely, nobody is going to take offence. :) I always ask what people want, unless it is obvious and if there is time I try and snap 2 shots which are slightly different. They can always delete what they don't want.

HI Matt

I don't know about the share on the FB page. I just went to the PhotoPass page and can't find anything there. There is a share application, but that is for sharing photos with friends and family - not splitting the cost. It must be elsewhere, but I am clueless. Personally, I would not want to be sharing my pictures with total strangers - especially my honeymoon photos. I don't know if the wedding is still coming up or if you are already married, but is it too late to put that on a gift list?

Just be careful on a share - i've read a few upsetting stories on other boards on here about people not getting there photos. I guess that is one reason they stiopped advertising the shares.

I think if you are going for 14 nights or more for $99 you will easily get enough photos to justify it. I can see why US visitors going for 3 or 4 days want to do a share though.

We are only going for one week do you think it would be worth it for us? im worried if i pre order it then we hardly get any photos :confused3

It depends. We tend to get most of our pics the first week and slack off a bit after that. If you do pre order and decide not to buy the CD, you can cancel and get a refund by sending them an email through the contact link in their website. It also depends how many photos you consider being sufficient to justify the cost. I like to have at least 75 on there. This year I will try and get more. I think last year we had over 100 before editing. When you edit if you click save as, you increase your number of photos as you can keep the original unedited one along with the edited version/s.

Do you have to pre order before you go? I'm sure the answer is on here already but I'm being lazy lol

Don't work harder; work smarter! :lmao: You do have to pre order, but although they imply it is before you go, it is really before you register your card to the account. So effectively, as long as you don't register your card, you can pre order later. Just be careful though because of the 30 day expiry period to activate your card for viewing and editing as some folk from the UK waited weeks before the money came off their account and they may not have been in time to register the card before expiry if they had chosen to purchase it after their return

Thanks! I really dont know if we should do this or not, neither of us really like having pics taken and we've just got a new camera hummmmm

I suppose it's a bit like looking at jeans on a good sale - unmissable bargain, but only if you like to wear them. As an alternative, you can always pass your camera to a CM/character manager or another guest and ask them to take a picture with your camera. We did this too and most of them came out just fine.

Are most CM's happy to do this? I just don't really think we'd end up having many done.

Absolutely! Some will even offer, but if you pay attention to it, you will see that it is commonly done. I wouldn't ask the PP photographer to do it, but the CMs are more than happy. Don't disregard kind guests who are willing to do the same. Often they will be really chuffed to agree to take your picture while you wait to take theirs. :) I remember standing in a long line to see Ariel. Once we had been there for about 40 minutes the dad behind us realised he had left his camera battery in the resort and they weren't buying photopass. I happened to have my compact camera with me as well as my better one and it turned out that my battery fitted their camera so I let them use it until they had their pics. They were so grateful. People usually love to do nice things at Disney. Taking pics for others is one of the many.
