ok in oct we will be doing our own photopass
no share program. He wants us to be able to do things in the park with the pics. Dose any one know how much the prints are? also if we get the cd there do we still get to do the borders?

Yes, if you buy the CD you can have the borders. You just have to add all the borders BEFORE you get the CD. We waited until we were home to add all the borders, then order the CD.

The prints for a 5x7 were $12.95. Which is why I ordered the CD, it was 85 cents at Walmart to make them off the CD. Much better! We had like 44 pictures put on our CD.

They had a deal going that when you bought the CD, they gave you $20 off on the book that you can not only add the professional pics on, but the ones you take on your camera too. I'll be getting the book and the CD tomorrow in the mail, I can't wait!

oh cool so you if I wanted to go in the place and add all the borders then i could get the cd.
and whats the book about? how much is that 20 off sounds good

The CM told me that you cannot add the borders in the park, so it must be done at home.

ok my dh is screaming 12.95 over and over
he says that totaly stops his idea. Ok so where is the nearest walgreen or walmart or place to go with our memory card and get a print printed?

12.95 per picture...as much as I love Disney somthings just amaze me...and yeah in case you havent guessed Im with Jade...lol

I don't understand what your FH wants to do. I thought he wanted to get the CD? If he wants the CD, why let the cost of prints in the park bother him?

Here's what I saw during my May trip.

You can buy the CD in the parks, to take home with you, at the end of your trip. IN late May, the cost of that was 74.99 and it included three 5x7 prints.

There are NO edits allowed, NO borders, with that CD, it is JUST the pictures and the right to get them printed *wherever you want*. You do NOT have to have them printed AT disney when you buy that CD.

You can buy just prints, and the 5x7s are 12.95. You get just the prints you order, and do not have the legal right to make copies.

If you want the edits, the borders, then you buy the CD online AFTER your trip, and after you've made the edits. For Disneyland and DCA, the photopass CD is about $75 now. When ordering online, you don't get the prints they throw in at the parks, but you do get to edit everything. Each time you edit a border on or a signature in, or even crop something, it makes a new copy of the picture. So you can end up with many many more pictures on the CD than you had taken! I think I showed some examples of that in my December trip report.

After you order it, they will make the CD and send it to you, and then you have the rights to make prints of those pictures anywhere you choose. You can upload them to an online photo site like shutterfly or photobucket, or Costco or Walmart's photo centers...you can take them to a photo place, too. You have the legal right to make prints as much as you want (as long as you're not selling them).

I hope that helps, b/c I think maybe your fiance thought that you had to buy the CD and then buy the prints FROM disney, and that's not true! :)

well what he wants to do is get ds a book that has autograph and next to it can put a pic. he wanted to get the pics and add them to the book right then and there. But not just photopass pics also normal ones from our camra lol

That's a cute idea!

I do think that the photopass centers only do 5x7s, and the Disneyland autograph books with the picture on one page are for 4x6s.

Not all characters have photopass photographers, so his great idea won't work by using photopass all the time.

But when they DO have photographers, you can hand the photogs your camera and have them take the pic (I assume he wants the family with the character?) and that way you have a pic on your camera that you could take to Costco or Target nearby (but going there each day might be a bit much!).

I wish I had done something like your idea, b/c I still haven't printed out the pictures for my son's autograph book that includes pictures.

Oh, if you're buying the one from Disneyland (ours is a bright, sort of metallic blue, with characters on the front) the picture spots are all horizontally-aligned. It's not really "natural" to take a horizontal picture with a character, since they are so tall, so you have to make sure you're taking the "right" picture for those slots!

ty for the hints lol we are going to look at the out let store our first day there we are going there.
where is the nearest place to go and get some prints?
well we just want to make sur e ds has some I am not good at printing them out when i should of. i have them all on my comp we look at them all time and on some home pages and myspace we have a slide show. but i want DS to have some to look at. Ill remember the horizonal thing

we also might get the book from the website where we add in some of our own pics and the photo pass pics. How dose that work.

How many pics will it hold how much was it after the 20 off? whats the normal price.

I haven't ordered a Photobook from Disney Photopass, but I've ordered them from places like shutterfly.com and photoworks.com. I have a photopass account so I logged in to get info for you. :)

It says that all of their photobooks are 11" x 8.75", consist of 10 double-sided pages, and each additional page is $1.49 each (don't know if that means one side or the double sided page).

If they are like other photobooks, the pictures you choose are printed ONTO the pages, and I bet you can caption the pictures if you'd like.

Looks like the normal book is normally 49.95, and you have "unlimited use of My Uploaded Photos", meaning photopass pictures and pictures from your camera that you upload to their site. The book is "sewn and bound with deluxe black hard cover".

The Professional Photo Book is 69.95, and you get "unlimited use of all Photos", which I believe means you get to use their "stock" photos of things like the castle etc. It is "sewn and bound with premium padded charcoal gray hard cover, and it has a "Personalized foil-stamped cover".

wow ok ty i wasnt to sure i know last time we read a few things about it and the dvd but just decied not then this time tho maybe. ty i will have to wait and see.
i did the shared cd last time so im just making sure to get all the info before we decied on things lol wow 3months and 2weeks away lol i cant belive i had spaced so much of this year..it went by prety fast.

Just wanted to let you guys know that my photobook came today (guess my CD will come tomorrow separately). It's BEAUTIFUL, I love it! Jade, you get to pick out the background graphics on each page of your book (you get 20 pages). Then you put in the pictures you want on each of those pages, both the photopass pics and ones you upload from your camera. You can even add writing to some of the pages. Like I have two pages full of Club 33 pictures, so I had that put on the bottom "Club 33 6-3-08". On the last page I have two pictures of the fireworks, and in the middle a picture of my son sleeping at the DLH. At the bottom I put "See you next year Disneyland!" Just love it! I think the $20 off the book promotion is over, but hopefully by the time you go they'll have it again (or something similar).

I walked by at Walmart and they had the machines you can slide the CD in to. Prints were really cheap too. Assuming all Walgreens ect... would have something like that.

But yeah, I waited until I got home to add all my borders and edit my pictures. I really wanted the borders on the CD.

ok well we will wait till we get home then for sure i liked all the borders and stuff. ok so did you only get 20pics. one per page?

You get 20 pages for the book, but you can add pages (of course for extra) if you need to. But each page holds 3-4 pictures. Each page is a Disney background that you choose, and has the pictures in different places. Kinda like a fancy scrapbook I'd say.

ohh thats more resonbule hum so about 70 for that and then about 75 for the cd

Yep, something like that. My guess is that by then they'll have some kind of coupon or deal going around though. Every year I've been able to use something to get money off. This time I got both for $134, with shipping. So not too bad. Pictures are always my favorite souviners though! :)

oh yes mine to i use to be a huge photp book person but something got me out of it. i really should add to my book from the last three years. But if i get this at least ill have it made up and maybe want to start again

Does the photopass service work only with the photographers that snap pictures while in the parks? What about the photos that are taken while on the rides like durring the plummet in Splash Mountain or at the end of California Screaming? Can you get those pics in Photopass so I can order em when I get home?
