Photopass Superthread!

I need help! We just got back from our trip. I am adding borders and editing photos. I plan on doing the CD. Do I save them as a 5x7 print out or a 5x7 download? I'm thinking download but want to double check! TIA

If I don't care about borders, is there some reason I would need to save my pics in the various sizes before ordering my photoCD? As in, the default is 4x6 pics and I later decide I want to order bigger pics off shutterfly, is there some problem that I only have the 4x6 versions saved (in terms of resolution or size or whatever)?

I have the same question. I've saved them in 4x6 and have the CD. On the pictures without the boarders, etc. can I print them off a different size?

TIA

You can print then in whatever size you like, but they will have the correct aspect ratio for the size you chose. So if you print a different size, some of the edges will be cropped off. Not a huge deal unless you added a border and part of the border gets cropped off.

Thanks. I will know better this next time on what to put on our CD.

Another question: I heard that you can stop at one of the photo shops and have your pictures from your digital camera downloaded to your account. It is faster than when you get home. Is this true? I just ordered another CD with our personal pictures from Costco, but, it would be nice to have them all on the same CD.

Sorry, can't help on that. I always have too many photos to add to CDs. And I shoot in RAW format so they have to be edited and put into Jpeg format before I can do anything else.

Hopefully someone else will chime in.

You have to save them in EACH size you might want to print them. The cropping is different for an 8x10 vs a 4x6 or a 5x7. I typically end up with 2-3 of each image to capture the different print sizes.

Thank you!! In the drop down menu do I choose 5x7 PRINT or 5x7 DOWNLOAD? Does it matter? I noticed when editing the cropping was different for each size but I'm most concerned to choose "print" or "download" and I feel like its a silly question since I'm getting a CD, not prints. I hope that makes sense!

Download I think.... That wasn't a choice when I last did this, but it makes more sense to me yo get that one. I would speculate maybe that it includes some bleed in it for printing elsewhere?

Thank you!! I really appreciate your help :goodvibes I'm having so much fun editing the photos. I was really on the fence about PP+ but think it was totally worth the money now!

I just scrolled through this entire thread, and I may have missed it...but is there a list or a link to a list of all the Magic Shots available, and where?

I thought I saw a list somewhere on the DIS in the past couple of months, but I'll be darned if I have any idea where. LOL

I'm getting the PP+ for my MIL for our upcoming trip in September, and want to get as many fun shots as we can while there.

Thanks!:)

Sorry, no list of magic shots in here. There are some that people have mentioned but not a full is. There is also a link on the first page to a Photopass shots thread that has examples of photos. I am happy to add a list of magic shots, but will need people to tell me them as I hardly got any on our latest trip!!

Thus far my research has told me:

Balloons and/or Tinkerbell in front of the Castle
Fantasyland has Balloons, Olaf, Pascal, Chip and Tinkerbell

Would love if anyone could pipe up with others they know of...any in DCA?
I heard there is Mickey and/or Minnie on the benches, but not sure where?

Nope. Can't be done. And the personal photos can't be on the same disc as the PhotoPass photos. It's a legal thing.

There is a thread (probably buried now) that is just about magic shots.

When we went in June we found an awesome PP photographer who asked if we wanted magic shots done. All in Fantasyland, we got balloons, TInk, Chip, Pascal & Olaf. The only one I know of in DCA was Stitch on the bridge to Paradise Pier.

The photo shop on Main Street will be closed during our visit. Where can we redeem our photopass+?

I have searched the last several pages and the first page, but couldn't find this answer. Please forgive me if I overlooked it :). I am debating getting the pp+ for our upcoming October trip. We will be there 3 days, plus a night at MHP, and one breakfast at surf's up. Trying to decide if it's worth it. My question is, are there special magic shots at MHP? Are there a lot of pp photographers available that night? We've done PP at WDW, but it was for a ten day trip. Just not sure we will get enough pictures in our limited number of says at DL. I've seen conflicting reports on the number of available photographers. Advice?

I don't know about MHP, but if you would be purchasing the photos from the breakfast anyway, that's half the cost of a prepurchased PP+ anyway. Add to that the ride photos (which I wouldn't normally purchase but love to have) and it's already paid for itself with just a few photos.

I tried searching this thread for the answer to my question and didn't get any results. I apologize if it's been asked before.

Is there anyway to pay for the prepaid PP+ with gift cards? There didn't appear to be a place to enter them online but I didn't know if I could call to order it and use them. Anyone have any experience with this?

ETA: I called and found the answer to my own question. At the very top of the payment page is a green "+" sign. Click that and you can pay with a Disney GC. That's an even better deal for me since I buy them discounted at Target or for Fuel points at Kroger.

Help! I've just logged on to view my PP+ photos and it says there are none attached to my account. There should be LOTS in there - we specifically sought out PP people and added all our ride photos to get the best value from the package :thumbsup2 The photos were all taken between 29th August and 15th September, so they've had plenty of time to upload and shouldn't be expired yet. I've emailed them, but I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this? I don't want my earlier photos to expire before I can access them.
