Photopass Superthread!

The Disney website for photopass+ only indicates access to the photos and has no mention of getting them on CD...does anyone know if the price still includes the CD or only the digital access?
THANKS

Anyone have any luck getting the lanyard at goofy's without doing the meal? I'd love to pick it up the evening we arrive and not have to think about it on our first morning.

In December we couldn't even pick up our lanyard when we WERE doing the meal. They told us we had to do it in the park and have them print out our dinner photos there.

We just got back from an awesome trip to Disneyland and now I'm working on pictures. How do I save prints in different sizes? I want to get them all on a cd and I only see options to size them for digital download. Thanks!

I am waiting until I visit DL with Photopass + later this year to be completely straight on what happens with BBB and the photos there.

I know that the photos taken during the 'transformation' are by a Photopass photographer and can therefore be added to your card (normal photopass or +). princess:

What I am unsure about is the photos taken as a 'photoshoot' after the transformation, in the studio with Cinderella's carriage. These photos normally cost $29.99 if bought as a package add-on. (or come as part of the Castle package - the most expensive one). I have emailed Disney Photopass service and if I have interpreted the response I got correctly they seemed to say that with Photopass + you could get the photoshoot photos added to your card for free, but if you wanted the hard copies of these you would need to purchase the package add-on as usual.

Will update this post after I have first hand experience to report, or happy to add in others experiences!

Hi,

So to clarify, I will not have to pay the $29 at BBB for these photos as

long as I have paid for photopass plus.

Thanks
Tricia

Dear Tricia,

Thank you for contacting Disney PhotoPass!

When utilizing your PhotoPass+ at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, you will
be able to have all of your Princesses photos taken while she is getting
her makeover, and then afterwards at the Portrait Studio. If you have
purchased the Castle Package, you will get the Physical Print Package.
However, if you have not purchased the Castle Package, you will be able
to add all of these images onto your PhotoPass+ card to be included on
your Photo Pass Archive Disc once you return home from your return from
your vacation.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

When we were there in July 2013, there was not a Photopass photographer taking pictures during the transformation. I read here I think that it was too crowded of a space to get the photographers to do it.

I asked about the photos w/ the carriage and we did not get the castle package and was told I'd have to pay $29.99, even w/ PP+. It is possible it has changed and I was given wrong info. Maybe someone can chime in who has been more recently. FWIW, the person answering your email is in Florida, and may not have the full info of how DL works. We did have photographers in WDW BBB in the salon, but not at DL.

You can also do a search as I swear I read on a BBB thread that the photographers were no longer in the salon...I apologize if I am wrong. I'll try to find the info.

I love superthreads! So much useful info :goodvibes

I have a question about a split stay at DLR. If I start the PP+ on the first short part of our trip, then it will be expired only a couple of days into our week long stay. Am I reading correctly on the first page that although you can no longer add ride photos or character meal photos after 14 days, that we will still be able to add regular PP photos? Is there a limit on this? I'll need 18-20 days to cover our whole split stay. I want ride photos from both stays as one will be with my DH, and the other will be with my parents. However, I can make sure I get all the ride photos and character meals done on the first couple of days of our return visit so that it's still within the 14 days from first use.

Otherwise, will I need to buy a separate PP+ for each stay? Or maybe it would work out cheaper to just use regular PP for the first part and choose which photos we want. But I want digital copies, not prints. Can you buy digital copies of the photos without buying a whole CD? Not happy with DH for making my life so difficult :rotfl:

We did 28 days at wdw last year and they were happy to extend the expiry date to cover our whole trip no extra charge

That is why I will take a printed copy of the email. I have been very specific in my email that it was at DL etc and it is a large part of my justification of spending the money on PP+ I too can see a potential issue once there though reading the various reports...

It's a good idea to take the email, but you may have to wait extra time to get it resolved if a photographer is not there. They probably would call and get one for you etc, but you may have to wait. When we were there last there wasn't a photographer standing by to do carriage photos, perhaps they were on a break or it was a shift change...or maybe no one had booked the Carriage package for the time period we were there so the photographer stepped away, I don't know. :confused3

I don't know why there is so much conflicting info and confusion out there, even from CMs etc.. They really need to have a photopass customer service "help line" that either knows both parks in and out or two separate ones. I did a lot of calling around last summer because of an issue w/ my CD and it was frustrating. :confused3

Good luck and do report back on how it goes!

I think there is an issue with your e-mail too. The photoshoot with the carriage, etc is included in the Castle Package. You can purchase it a la carte for $29 From what I recall, you only get the photo shoot if you paid for the package.
If I were you. I would actually ask if you are going to be allowed to take photos in that area after the non Castle makeover and without the $29 purchase. The CM says they can be added, but in the past...I do not believe they have allowed photos there unless the package was purchased...PP+ or not. Maybe someone that was able to take photos with the carriage without purchasing the package can prove me wrong. :goodvibes
Getting conflicting info from CM's is a regular occurrence, unfortunately.

We went in October last year (2013), and I didn't end up asking about just getting the photos on the PP+ at the time. I had emailed them too, and it sounded like with the cheaper packages, if you had PP+, you could do the photo shoot in the carriage room, not get the printed photos and just get them added to your card.

When we got there however I ended up asking if instead of buying a photo package for both my girls could we instead just buy one package. So I paid for one printed photo package, which had photos of both girls together, but she also took individual photos of each of them and they were all added to my PP+ card.

I have heard others say this is not possible, so it may be a case of day, time and which cm you get. We were the very first appt of the day and no one else was there till we were nearly finished, so that may have made a difference. This was also when they took photos during the transformation as well.

Are there many photopass photographers out and about later in the evening as it gets darker? Or are they mostly around just during daylight? I'd love to get some shots of our family in front of the castle at night!

Also is there a current list of magic shots available?

The answer to these questions will probably be the deciding factors me on getting the photopass+ or not.

We got some great photos at night on our last trip :thumbsup2 We had photos in front of the castle, in front of Main Street Station, and with Paradise Pier in the background at DCA.

We got plenty of night time shots last week! At the Storyteller's Statue, various Cars Land locations and Town Square at DL, with the castle in the background. It did seem that overall, Photopass photographers were more plentiful at DCA, but maybe it was just our timing?

I thought the same thing during our trip.

A couple in Carsland outside of Flo's and in front of the sign as you enter Carsland. Another outside of Monster's University where you can get a magic shot and another great location was in the evening outside of ToT where she had a tripod set up and was able to get an amazing shot of the light ToT sign and us with little crowds around.

Sorry, one more question...

I noticed that the Disney website says that you get a photo CD with a "limited license agreement". How is it limited and what can you do with the photos? I usually like to make a photo book on shutterfly after a vacation, will I be able to use the photos in my vacation book?

I'm no expert, but I would guess that limited would mean you can only use the photos for personal use. So just don't make up a bunch of mugs with your photos and try to sell them on ebay :rotfl:

Curious? What does the photo package at Character dining include?

I just planned our first ever Character Dining at PCH Grill (surfs up). Not sure what it means when some people say "character dining photo package"? Do we get a printed copy of our photo with Mickey or just the digital file on our photopass+ card?
