Photopass questions

I've been poking around the Photopass site, and I'm not seeing a price. I do'nt know if I'm overlooking it or it's just hidden away somewhere. So my question is, how much is it and is it worth the cost?

When I was at Disneyland a couple of years ago, they were just starting to use the system with the card that you gave to photographers in the park to use when they took your pictures. But I never ended up buying any because when we viewed them online later, they were all of some one else. Somewhere, we'd gotten the cards switched and there was one picture of us and a bunch of another group of people. I'm sure they were equally thrilled...

So, all I know about the Photopass is to be sure you end up with the right card back!

12.95 for 5x7
19.95 for 8x10

plus shipping and handling

there's a link to discounts, so if you spend enough, it's possible you can you apply one of those to the order.

The other option is if there's enough photos in the whole group, have one person order the CD, then that person can make pictures for every one else, or copy of the cd's.

The best way is to go through the order processes to find out what your total is prior to entering your CC info. Then just back out from it.

WDW CD is now $149.95. Preorder it for $99.95 inc. free shipping
If you pre order and don't like your pix enough you can get a refund up to 2 weeks from when your trip is over.

DLR is $59.95.

Worth it? Yes it is to me since it makes sure I get in the pix. You can have PP Photogs use your own camera as well as theirs. You just won't get the enhancements or "Magic" shots. They will also take pix of you at TL and BB, inc. in the water ones. Pretty fun!

Added-also you can add all your pictures from Test Track to your card, and therefore your CD!

They will also add Jedi Training Academy pix to your card.

Here's a few of my favs from last year

Also if you go to any character meals that take pictures, if you buy the package they will add the photos to your card as well. Then you can enhance and print as many of the pictures as you want when you get home.

If you have other family or friends going you can share the cost and get all your photos on one CD order. There's no limit to how many pictures you can have on one order. Last year I had 2130 after edits inc. WDW and DLR. (Many trips to DLR).

To make sure you get the right card back you should bring a Sharpie and write on it. I put my phone number on it, just in case as well as taking a picture of the back of every card I get. Just some added insurance.

Check out bradk's site at http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/ for a great rundown on the system including prices.

Is it worth it? Depends on the individual. Some people buy the cd, but then don't make the effort to get pictures taken. Then when they get home and see only 30 pics they say its a waste. Other people get several hundred photos taken and end up with a great value.

You can use as many cards as you want, so if your group splits up, have them all get cards and then just add then to the account later. Don't be afraid to have a few photographers take your picture if its something important. I.E. the castle. Each has their own perspective on photos to take, and that way if something happens to one set of photos, you have another just in case. Also increases the odds everyone has their eyes open, smiling, etc. Take a set of photos during the day, and then again at night. Many sets look totally different due to the amazing lighting Disney has on many parts of the park at night.

I would Preorder the CD, it saves you $50.

Plus if you get home and decide you didn't get enough pictures to make the CD worth it you can ask for your money back. As long as the code they emailed you hasn't been used they will just credit your money back to you.

Do you know if you travel to DL in November and WDW in Dec., can you use the same photopass? I know you get cards at each park, but if it was pre-ordered for one park, could both DL AND WDW be put on one CD or would you have to buy a separate one for each visit? (my trips occur within 30 days of each other.)

Thank you, guys, so much! I plan on asking them to use my camera as well as theirs, but I didn't know I could upload those pics as well.

And Dizneydaz, the picture of the girl (your daughter?) with Simba is absolutely precious! I went "awwww" right away. Have you scrapbooked your pics?

I'd already thought about marking my card, and I have Sharpies. Don't know why I didn't think of that. *face palm*

Yes you can.:goodvibes If you work it right you can actually get 60 days total from the day your first picture is taken. Just enter all your cards on the same account. You will be charged the WDW price though since they will be the last ones taken. I would pre-order the CD to save the $50. If you were going to DLR last you would pay $59.95. And it case you wonder, it is based on the days the pictures are taken, not when you upload them.

Here's how you can get 60 days. Say you first pix are taken on Nov. 1st. You have until Dec. 1st to upload those first ones. Then you have until Dec. 31 st (another 30 days) to make an order. You can keep adding pictures though to the account up until you order. Last year they offered a 30 day extension if you order one thing from the site (I ordered the cheapest thing) and I got an extra 30 days. I was able to have pictures from Sept/Oct./Nov all on one CD. Don't know if they'll be doing that again this year.

Have fun! I love PP! (I'm getting to be quite an expert, esp. at DLR!)

Thanks, it's one of my favorites too. :cloud9:
