Photopass question

I've never heard of the whole photopass program. I've done some research and have figured out that this would be great for our trip next week.

However, I have no idea where to get the photopass card that the photographer can scan. Can I purchase one when we enter the park? Will the first photographer that we see have one for us to use for our trip? I don't want to miss out on any opportunities for family pictures.

All of the photographers should have cards for you (you don't purchase the card, they give that to you). If you get one and leave it in the hotel room, you can get another. As soon as you get one, I would record the code on something so if you do lose the card, you'll still have access to the pics on that account. When you get home, you can upload all the cards you used into your photopass account. When you get home you'll be able to look at all your photos, edit them, add borders, and the order what you'd like. They have a wide range of products.

this is a great site to learn all about photopass:
http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/

If you booked at a Disney Resort you should have received an e-mail with a discount on the Photopass if you pre-order before your trip.

Thank you. Very helpful info. Unfortunately, we are not staying on site this time... needed a kitchen and couldn't afford the options on site. :)

You can still use Photopass... And as the Previous Poster mentioned, all the photographers carry them, and will give you one if you don't already have.

A couple of tips to keep in mind with PP cards.

1) Take a picture of the number on your card with your Camera, this way if you lose the card, you can still retrieve the pics.
2) Bring a sharpie and write your name (or any distinguishing mark) on your card... this way when you give it to another photographer (who may have a line) you can insure you get yours back.

Good luck...

It's free to use the photopass service, there is no charge for the card and no charge to register on line. After you pick up a card from the photographer in the park you can use it anywhere you see them (they were blue shirts and a vest). When you get home, you can go online and view the photos for up to 30 days, you can also share it with friends and family for free. Then you can decide if you want to purchase one. It's fun, take one in front of the castle and try to take one at night in front of the castle, those were my favorites.

Can I add a few questions to this thread, by chance, please? If I got a pre-register photopass card with my paperwork for our trip and pre-registered it on the site, and then I go forward and pre-purchase the CD of photos through the separate discount offered randomly, can I
(a) still have plenty of time to access my photos when I return home on he website and add enhancements to them before finalizing the CD?
(b) if I go to an event like Toontown's pixie hollow where they seem to issue wristbands with photopass cards, can I give my existing card instead? Or can I merge that into my same online account even fi the card # is different so they are all on the CD?
(c) are the photopass photographers pretty well staffed around the parks to get lots of shots? Are they typically at character meals in CRT or Norway or places like that?

Thanks in advance!!

I don't know if this helps you but I had preregistered before I left for Disney. Then I used my card to take pictures on about the third day I left it in my hotel so I got a new one in the park from a photographer and used that one for that day. My husband and I split up so he got another as well. When we went back to the hotel we stopped by the photopass place and the lady there was so helpful she merged all the cards together under my original account that I had already preregistered. So they can help you if need. The photographers are all over the parks and in the hotels as well. You will find one with every character usually. There's always a couple down mainstreet to get the castle shot. Testtrack was the only ride that you can actually scan your photopass at the end. It was great cause we had all our photos on one card! Hope that answers some of your questions?

Also, you can give the photopass people your camera and have them take the same shot for you so you don't have to pay for the photos. :thumbsup2

Great, thanks! I'm glad to know they can do the merge right at the hotels, that is great to know!!
Were the photopass staff at character meals as well?

Yes to all of the above...

And if you are not happy with your photo's you can get a refund on your pre-purchase.

a) you have 30 days after the photos are taken to claim the photos. If you use a preregistered card the photos are "claimed" immediately. If you wait til you get home the photos are claimed when you put in the card number. The photos expire on the website 30 days after they are claimed so you might get an extra few days if you don't use the preregistered card.

b) you can add mulitple cards to your online account and the photopass desks can merge multiple cards. There are photopass desks at the parks and at the deluxe resorts that do photo shoots. You can view your photos at these desks too. The mini card from pixie hollow is very convenient.

c) you can get lots of photos taken but the only photopass photographers at character meals are just 1 family shot before you sit down not with every character. Often those photographs like at Ohana & Tusker House are a seperate purchase for about $30. If you purchase the photographs you can add them to your photopass CD.

I would always ask the photopass photographers to take a photo with your own camera. I found most time the photos from my camera were much better.

Thank you. Can you elaborate a bit on a photo shoot at a deluxe resort? Is this a free thing with photopass or just something I've never heard of that is an extra? Thanks!

I have never done the formal photo shoot-that does cost extra and you schedule an appointment.

The deluxe resorts that offer that do however take do take free photos at night. I have done this at AKL & Poly. I have to say these photos are excellent. I found the park photos quality was very hit or miss and mostly misses.

Thanks again! Is Contemporary one of those that offers that with the free photos at night? I guess it's good that the pre-purchase is refundable if you are unhappy with the pics then, but I just can't decide yet. I don't want to buy and wish I hadn't, so I guess it's good that it's refundable if you aren't liking the pics.

I believe the pics taken at CRT are included with your meal.

The Ride photo on Test Track can also be scanned to your Photopass card.

Just looked it up. They are at GF, Poly, BC, WL & AKL. You don't have to be staying at that resort to get your photo taken.

one word of advice is to check your photos before you go home as there have been sevreal people lately that cant acess there photos

it is much easier to find them if you are there to help the cm

try to take note of the time and place of at least on pic every day incase you loose your card (a great way is to make sure the time is set proper on your camera and have them take a pic with your camera too)

Is the ride photo extra or is it included at no cost?

Test Track is the only photo you can add to your photopass card.

Even if you purchase another ride photo you cannot add it to your photopass card unlike the meal photos. If you purchase photos from a meal you can add those to your photopass card. I think photos from CRT and Norway are included in the price of your meal but they also take photos at OHana, Chef Mickey's and Tusker House.
