I am getting different information. One site is saying the CD is $59.99 another site is saying it's $99. So which is it??? I'm doing a photoshare and was going off the $59.99 rate, now I'm seeing $99...

When I logged into my photopass account, it says $59. I believe the $99 price is if you pre-order (this is really only a good deal for WDW)

I'm logging into the account and of course don't see the price anywhere. It looks like it's not giving you the option to pre-purchase anymore.

Unless PhotoPass has raised their prices, for a DLR CD, it should be $59.95 + $7.00 shipping (or more if being shipped internationally), for a total of $66.95. That is what the price was both in October and December of 2008, when I last ordered a CD. And when you order one CD, if you want an extra one at the same time, they charge an additional $19.95. Now, there are some folks who have gone to both WDW and DLR within the same time frame and have put both sets of pictures on one PhotoPass account, and sometimes PP will tell you at first that the price will be what the WDW cost is ($129.95, I think?), but then it should adjust itself to the lower DLR price when the transaction is being completed in check-out.

Pre-ordering really only makes sense for WDW, because you can save money that way. But for DLR, it makes much more sense to just edit your pictures and order the CD after your trip is completed, because it would cheaper than to pre-order it. Actually, I didn't even realize that pre-ordering a DLR PhotoPass CD was possible anymore. I thought it was possible at one time, but I didn't know you still could do that. If that's accurate, it doesn't make any sense to do it that way.

Ok that makes sense. Before when we went we saved money by pre-ordering it. So at this point it doesn't seem to matter. THe site I found the $99 charge on was old. And I think that was referring to DW anyway. I think we're good to go. THANK YOU for your quick responses.

I didn't know anything about PhotoPass when I went to DLR prior to 10/08, and now I wish I had. I had two trips in 2007 that I wish I had done PhotoPass for. Once I asked about it on DISBoards and Bumbershoot gave me some good info, I used them both in October and December last year and probably will use them on every trip from this point forward. No matter how many pictures you take with your camera, it feels good to know that you have a back-up with the PhotoPass stuff just in case something goes wrong with the camera. Plus, it's nice to have good-quality pictures of your whole group together, rather than one person always being left out when they are handling the picture-taking. What I did in December was use my own cameras for mainly landscape/scenery stuff and taking pictures of various details around DLR, and I used PhotoPass for all our 'people pictures,' so that way I got a good mix of everything. Plus, there is no obligation (well, that is, if you are not involved in a pre-arranged PP share and just do it on your own). You don't have to buy the CD at all, and if you only want one photo you can just buy one photo, but you can get hundreds of pictures onto one CD. On my October trip, when I was just getting familiar with PhotoPass, we took, I think, 58 pictures. I turned that number into 112 by editing and adding borders, and still paid the same $66.95. In December we took, I think, something like 97 pictures, which I then turned into 300 pictures and paid the same $66.95.

And Dizneydaz (one of our fine DIS'ers here) squeezed in a couple of thousand pictures from a WDW trip and trips to DLR on her account, if I recall! So that CD is a good deal and I think it is good to have as a back-up to your regular pictures.

Have fun!!!
