photopass question

Hi all,

This is the first I've heard of the photopass thing. I am not sure how I missed it, but could someone explain the details of how this works? Do you have to ask to have your picture taken or do they have people everywhere snapping pictures? 'And then do you have to swipe a card to let them know who you are? How does it work? Also, do you have to decide prior to seeing the pictures if it is worth it to buy the CD?

any detail oriented person willing to spell it all out for me?

When you get there get a photo pass, take as many pics as you want, look at it, decided if you want to buy it, it is a good deal, you get the rights to the photos to make your own reprints.

It's pretty simple really. The first time you get your photo taken by a photopass photographer (almost all of them wear a khaki vest that says Photopass Photographer, making them easy to find) they will give you a small plastic card. Then, when you get future pictures taken by a photographer, just give them this card. This keeps all of your pictures together.

When you want to see the pictures, go to any photo center (there's at least one in each park -- 2 in MK) and you can see the pictures. You're under no obligation to buy anything, and can look as often as you want. You can also buy the photos/CD on the disneyphotopass.com website for up to 30 days after the last photo was taken.

The photopass people are REALLY great. GF and I had 581 pictures taken in a week-long trip last week, and got to talk with a lot of them. They'll REALLY go out of the way to get the photo shot you want. We wanted a nighttime shot in front of a white castle (since the lights on it change color) and spent about an hour with two of the photographers to get it.

The CD includes a release allowing you free reproduction rights for non-commercial use, so for people who want a lot of photos, you can get them printed at walmart/target/online for much cheaper than buying them from Disney.
