I have previously purchased my Photopass CD in the park before we left for home, but after reading that it's cheaper to get it online after the fact (plus you can get the cool Disney borders on your photos), I have waited.

I thought there was some sort of email discount code that came out before your 30-day purchase window expired, but I haven't seen that yet. Was that a limited time offer, or should I still expect to see that? I am right about 15 days into the window, I think... :confused3

Thanks if you have any info to offer on this! :)

Mine are going to expire on the 8th, and while I got a "your pix are going to expire" email there was no discount code.

With DLR, it's not cheaper to buy online, but you don't get to edit the picture. BUT they make up for that by giving you the CD with the plain pictures and a couple prints, when you buy it in the parks.

I still haven't heard of anyone get a discount code for DLR, though....it's the cheapest of them all at only 59.95 plus shipping. I'll let you know if I get one though...going to wait until the bitter end b/c we got so FEW pictures (even if I did edit them to 25 times the number of pictures we took, LOL) and I keep hoping for the money tree to shake over me so we could run down to CA this week. ha ha ha

Thanks, bumber.

Yeah, I didn't get as many photos taken this time, either, I'm kinda bummed about that. DS8 was "in a mood" this trip and either flat refused to get in a picture, or whined at the very mention. I was trying to get a nice family photo for our Christmas cards, and so we did force a few photos on him. In a few he is grimacing in a fake attempt at a smile. :lmao:

The family ham (DS4) has some adorable photos from Pixie Hollow, though, and there are a few other nice ones in the lot. :lovestruc

One of the PP photographers we met in DCA (he was my favorite - the one who had us cracking up in hysterics from beginning to end, pretending we were getting run over by a train) handed us a card at the end of our 'session' that had a PP discount sticker on it. He claimed he was "not supposed to give these out" but since we were such good sports with the crazy poses, he wanted to give us a discount card. The only catch was the discount had to be used IN one of the stores where you view your PP shots in either park, and it expired in just a couple of days. It was like 20% off whatever we bought in the store - whether it be the CD or a photo gift or whatever. I would have used it but I knew I wanted to get home and edit my pictures online and add the fun borders and enhancements, so the discount went to waste, sadly.

Don't fret, Sherry. Both my photopass cards had the 20% off sticker as well. I think he was pulling your leg a little. ;) :lmao:

ETA: I ignored my sticker because I'd already decided to try the online option (with the borders and all that) this time; PLUS I thought I'd be getting an offer on a discount via email. Oops, maybe not...

Yes, when the PP guy told me he wasn't supposed to give the cards with the discount out, I wondered why he had them in his pocket then, if not to give them out?!!! You obviously have to be carrying them around with the intention of giving them out to someone!:rotfl: :rotfl: Plus, the one on our card had an expiration date of just a couple of days from that day, so he would have to be giving them out in order for anyone to be able to use the darn things!!! Yes, I would much rather be able to go online and turn my original number of pictures into 25 times that many by adding borders, characters and other enhancements and just pay the $66.95! It seems like a good deal overall!

I got a card with that same code, FYI. With no comment about not being supposed to give them out. :) But we were just rushing so much that even though the TWO pictures on our account (OK there are actually 5, but 3 are DS in front of the DCA tree and 2 are DH with Screamin' ears almost "on" his head) would be better to be purchased with a 20% discount, we just didn't have time.

I only have 5 or so days to decide if those pictures, which I edited into 50 versions of the two best of the 5, are worth the cost. Figure if I get ONE print of each that's 30 plus shipping, same if I get the download/permission digital product they now have of each picture...even hubby says that getting the possibility of all those versions for 60 is better than just one version each for 30.

He's getting into the disney math...but I'm still holding out for a discount email. :upsidedow

Bumber, you inadvertently answered another question I had; I was wondering if the download option was for a single picture (are you kidding me for that price???), or if it was to flag only those photos you want, and download them all for that price? I don't know why anyone would choose the per photo download, that's pretty pricey!

"Disney math", huh? I understand Disney math. :lmao:

Yes it's pricey! But the download gives you the "rights" to the picture, while buying the print of the picture doesn't. So if you buy a print that's all you're legally allowed, but with the download you can print it at will, send a print to everyone you know, etc etc. :)

Oh, sorry I wasn't clear. I'm comparing the cost of downloading a single photo with the cost of buying the CD. :)

One photo for $15 v. all of them for $60 + shipping? No brainer for me... the Disney math, ya know... ;)

Ok, here's a variation on the OP's question. I pre-purchased the cd before our WDW trip--I have now edited all my photopass pictures. I have the order number from the pre-trip cd purchase--but how do I get that to apply to the photopass pictures on my account. I don't see any way to do it!

Click the products tab at the top of the website and select disney photo cd.

Order your photo cd by clicking add to cart button.

Enter the promotion code they e-mailed you in the promotion code field and click apply. The cost of the photo cd and shipping will then be removed from from your order total.

Quick question for those of you who have ordered PP CD recently. I did one last year for our Sept. WDW trip along with Sept, Oct., & early Nov. DLR trips. Last year at first I was given 30 days from upload to order CD, etc. Then I went ahead and ordered stickers to get the extra 30 days to order. That took me to 11-11-08 to order CD. Before I ordered it I noticed that they had extended my order window to 12-10-08. That gave me 60 days plus an additional 30 because I took advantage of special offer late last year.

So my question is, is this--is PP giving you 60 days to order or 30? Was the 60 days just a special promotion for the holidays or are they still doing it?

I went on 12-10-08 and got a few pix. I have to upload those by 1-9-09 before they disappear. DD9 and I will be making several trips to DL during Jan. Some of our trips will be just us, others with friends and/or family. If my first upload is 1-9-09 then I will have to order my CD by 2-8-09 to be within the 30 day ordering window. DD is returning to school on 2-2-09 so ordering by 2-9 shouldn't be a problem as long as I do my editting/enhancing after each trip. But I do wonder if Disney is giving us 30 or 60 days from first upload?

I'm hoping to convince a few of DD's friends families to join in on a CD share. I let them participate (for free) with us in Sept and hope they liked their pix enough to split the cost this time. :goodvibes

Going to DL on 1-5-09, our first chance since we've been blocked out since 12-19. :goodvibes

Cheryl, do you have the code from the "do not delete" email? That's the code you use.

Add the photocd to your cart; it'll tell you how many pictures you have to put in there.

Click Checkout. At that page you'll see something like (copied from my account, changed to WDW stuff in red):

Image Product Type Project Unit Price Qty Subtotal Remove
PhotoCD Disneyworld Photo CD $129.95 $129.95
Disneyworld Photo CD First 1 at $129.95, $??? each additional

Over to the right, there's a box.

Have a Promotion Code?
Enter it here:

Do not include dashes or spaces.

What is this?

I bet you that's where your code goes. And once you click Apply your cart will "zero out" to the proper price.

Let me know if it works!

ACK! I just reviewed all my photopass photos (from 2 cards) and realized the ones of the boys "swordfighting" Captain Hook are not there!

We specifically trekked all the way back to NOS on our last afternoon in order to get those. Is there any way to find them now? They would have been taken on 12/12/08... :sad1:

Contact them right away! That is exactly what happened to me - my Hook pictures from December 20th were missing. Note, though, that when you FIRST write them, they may tell you that the pictures are lost forever and cannot be retrieved - that is what they tried to tell me. But then I wrote them again and told them that I knew that even if Hook could not be put in the pictures for technical reasons, they still had us posing with the sword. They 'fessed up and admitted they had the 2 shots with me holding the sword after all. They said it was "against policy" to send the pictures anyway, even without Hook in them, but they would make an exception. They replaced my two Hook-less pictures within an hour. At first the photos ended up at the end of all the other shots but the next time I logged on, they had been put back in the proper order in which they were taken! They wouldn't put Hook in them because they said the way the photographer took the picture somehow made it impossible to place Hook in the shots and to do it now would "compromise the integrity of the character." So I got two shots of me looking silly with the sword, but no Hook. You may or may not be able to get the ones with Hook, but if you at least want the versions without Hook, you have to write them more than once and not accept their first answer!

weird! did the photographer show you the photos after he took them? ours did, and they looked perfect (on the teeny tiny view window, of course...) i was so excited about getting them done, and so were the boys, it would be a shame to lose them.

who did you contact at disney? is there an email address for photopass issues?

thanks, sherry!

Our PP photographer did not show us the pictures - then again, I didn't think to ask him to see them! He appeared to be checking something on the screen so I assumed all the shots came out okay...until I logged onto the PP account and saw that the two Hook shots were missing. But everything else we did was there. All the other shots taken by that same (French) photographer (there were a couple of cute French import PhotoPass photograhers in DLR when we went - ooh la la!!) in the same location came out fine, so I knew that AT LEAST the part of the Hook shots with me holding the silly plastic sword had to have come out because they do the Hook overlay later on.

I clicked on the Contact Us link at the bottom of the PhotoPass website page. I submitted the detailed info of where the shots were taken, etc. I got my first reply from them the next day, I think. (MY brain is fuzzy, but it was pretty quickly.) That is when they said the pictures were lost forever. I remembered seeing somewhere on DISboards that someone's photos had turned out, but with no character enhancement. AND I recalled that others had trouble with the Hook pictures. So I wrote back and told PP that I knew they had the shots of me with the sword, and then they wrote back and admitted to it and I told you the rest already! So just be prepared for them to tell you in the first e-mail that your photos are gone forever. So write them back (just 'Reply' to their e-mail and that works fine) and ask for the versions without Hook and tell them that you KNOW they can get those for you, and they will come clean! There is some sort of technical difficulty with the Hook pictures that keeps causing folks to lose out on their Hook/duel shots, but they implied to me that it was the photographer's fault!!
