Okay, I finally got around to accessing my photos from our November visit.

I deleted the pics I didn't want and put on borders and stickers and clicked on the little heart for the pics I did want.

I had no idea what to do next,so I clicked on each picture and then clicked "download" and "Add To Cart".

It shows a price around $224. Now I know I have a promotion code in my PP+ case for one archive disc.
1) Will putting that code in negate the $224 so I'll owe zero??
2) I already paid $149 for PP+. Will I owe MORE money in addition to that??
3) I read somewhere on the boards that we could add our own photos to this disc. Is that something I do on my own, at another time? I don't see anyway to add my own pics in the PP area.
4) I so totally have no idea what I'm doing. Please,I need some guidance!!!

There should be a place to put the code, and you should not owe anymore money, but the $224 is high. Did you add more things besides the cd? If so, you will pay for those items, but the cd/download is free.

You'll need to go through and remove all those pictures from your cart (there should be an empty cart button or similar) then simply add the cd to your cart and put in your code creating a zero balance. The only time you should owe anything additional on a PP+ is if you are ordering additional prints (silly as you can print them for a fraction of the cost from the cd) or other photo products - calendars, mugs, etc. (again cheaper through other sources once you have your cd) or if you order the cd instead of the download and live outside of the us. I paid $15 shipping to receive mind in Canada.

THANK-YOU THANK-YOU THANK-YOU

I knew I was doing something wrong somewhere, but I couldn't figure out what it was.
It was hard to believe that I was going to pay more than I already did.
I guess I just add my own photos to the CD when it arrives???
Then, I download the stock photos onto my computer and add some of those to the CD???
Can you guess I'm technically challenged..........:sad2:

You can't add your own pictures to the PP+ CD. You would have to order a separate product called the Personal Photo Archive CD for $19.95.

Then, I download the stock photos onto my computer and add some of those to the CD???

While you can download the stock photos to your computer, I would assume that the PP+ CD is read-only and can't be added to.

I'm 99.999% sure they don't even have that anymore. Unless you're making something to order from the photopass site, like a mug or mousepad, there's absolutely NO reason to put your personal pictures onto the photopass site. And there's no need to put them on your photopass CD (nor is there a way as I believe siskaren is correct in that it's read-only).

There's no reason to add the stock photos to the CD you'll get in the mail. I assume you already have those on a CD, so that's your CD. You can download them to your computer if you're doing something with them on the computer or on a website like shutterfly, etc.

OP, what are you plans for your pictures? Maybe we can start from there and make sure you do what needs to be done?

I guess I thought I could put all my pictures from my stay there, all in one place, on one CD.
So, I can't add pictures to the PP+ CD.........then there's the stock CD......then there's the CD I might eventually get to put my personal pictures on.......3 CD's for one 5 day trip. Am I thinking this through correctly?

If they do have the personal archive, or if you do normally put your personal pictures on a CD, yep, 3 CDs for the trip. :)

And...if you want to be a truly careful person when it comes to archiving your digital pictures...you would also save them on an external hard drive, maybe another CD (if you put your pictures onto your computer you could then put ALL the pictures onto ONE CD), and also upload them to a site like photobucket or shutterfly so someone else is watching over them as well.

That's a lot of caution! I have intentions of actually putting CDs of all of my digital images into a safe deposit box; had thought of it before, and then a few years ago our wedding photographer had a studio fire where he himself lost all of his own wedding negatives, and then a friend of mine lost everything in a house fire...so it's really weighing heavily on my mind, that I need to get copies put somewhere safe.

I knew this was the best place for the best answers!!!

I've been backing up my computer, like most people, probably not as much as I should, but, now you have me thinking more seriously about this. I'm the one who takes pictures of everything!!! I can't imagine losing my pictures.
I have no problem loading them onto a CD AND uploading them onto another site. I think I have a Shutterfly account I haven't used yet. Got it when that part of Kodak went under and everything was transferred to them.
THANK-YOU for your help and guidance!!!!!!

I still can't believe 3 CD's for one trip. Someone has to come up with a way to streamline this. Why does Disney use a read only CD? Are they cheaper than one that we can add pictures to? Is that why?:confused3

Back in 2008 I believe I was able to add my own photos to add stickers and boarders. That option is no longer available? I am about to log in to see my photos from my late January 2014 trip and was wanting to get all my ducks in a row. Thanks for information - as you can see it has been several years since I did PP+. Glad I got it before they did away with it.

An alternative would be to load all your pictures from the two Disney CDs onto your computer, along with your personal photos, and burn all of them to your own CD. Then file your two (or three) CDs away as backup.

Don't forget to include the release that should be included on your PP+ CD, otherwise you might have problems getting the Disney photos printed some places.

They don't have a "personal photo archive" disc anymore. I believe (but I could be wrong!) that you can still upload your own camera's pictures to order products like coffee mugs and photobooks, but there's no disc. Of course, the borders and things for personal photos were never anywhere near as cute as for the photopass-taken pictures (nor were there many), and as far as I know they have never been included on the main photopass disc (just the personal archive disc).

Of course now things are even more different, with "memory maker"....

You may actually get more than 1 cd depending how many pictures you have. I got 2 CDs with all my pics. If you want them all in 1 place I'd suggest burning everything to a DVD.
