Disneyworld pro here but eagerly awaiting my trip to the land! Where are the best photopass locations I love the photos they have!

Also where is the best place to get with a photo of Walts castle and your family with the world of color lights?

Post som photos or give me the best advice you guys can! Appreciate as always

Mike

The water streams they leave on after current show weren't lit up with color when I saw it. The best place to get a photo would be during the show, on the opposite side near the TSMM exit.

Oh no that's not good! I would have loved one with all the nice colors on the floor illuminated!

I still don't understand how some people get hundreds of pictures with a photopass. Do you ask each photographer to keep taking pictures? I have read that some get 200 pictures. If you had a 4 day hopper, that would mean 50 pictures a day on average. I just don't see how that would happen. I am debating whether to order the pass but have doubts that it would be worth it. The last time I got about 20 pictures. What am I doing wrong?

I have an adorable pic of my DH and myself in front of the Mickey Death Wheel and the photog positioned him so the ears are over his head. It's really cute. We are actually standing close to the Ariel ride. The photog was on the bridge and walked us over.

In a 3 day period we usually get around 75 pics, we don't seek them out, just get a few pics at the usual spots- they usually take about 5 at each spot. I think people use the photos that they edit with borders in their count. I think PhotoPass is worth it to get 1. The Castle pic and they edit out the people in the background 2. For the "Magic" pics. We have one with my DD holding Tinkerbell and she looks like she actually is and 3. The un-staged photos at the Princess Faire, Ariel's Grotto and Pixie Hollow if you have a little one excited to meet them. My all-time favorite photo of my DD is her meeting Periwinkle at Pixie Hollow.

The trick is to remember that the photopass photogs' jobs are dependent on you spending money on photos. When they see someone with a photopass plus card, they know the sale has been made, and it's now their job to give you your money's worth. Even without the card, if they think you are likely to buy a photo or package, they'll expend more effort and take more shots. All you need to do is put your own camera away and let them know you want as many photos in different poses as they can take. (Even when you do give them your camera, you'll find they take more photos of varying types with their own camera and only one or two boring shots with yours.) The other trick is to interact with the characters, suggest silly poses in front of the castle, ask them to suggest poses, etc. Their supervisors will look over their work occasionally, and the more creative photogs, who sell more pictures, are the ones who get promoted to the better positions. :D

I ran into a PP on Main St. He saw our PP+ and took us to Tomorrowland and Adventureland. Then he gave us his schedule for after his break and said we could meet him at other spots we wanted pics. I also found two neat the Grizzly peak op and asked him if he could go to BVS for a pic and one by the castle offered to go to the wishing well. It also depends on how busy they are, if they have a tripod and if there are multiple covering the same spot. But if you ask sometimes they can move to different spots to take another shot. It also helps of you're early as I've noticed that around 3pm they start switching PPs to parade crowd control.

The key is to stop for every photographer you see. Be animated and engaging and they will take more shots. We had one photographer (who initially told me she would only take a posed shot) end up taking 28 shots of my daughter with Woody. She took some on my camera as well. We got 30 shots at the Visa M&G with Stitch. I had more than 300 photos on my card before I started editing and adding borders, and we weren't able to stop at a lot of the spots (my brother was with us and he hates standing in line for photos). We were there for five days.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I am off to order my photopass+.

Where are some locations besides the castle in DISNEYland that you guys enjoy? I need to get that classic castle shot what are some other iconic locations?

Btw 5 days from disneyworld we have 600 photos from characters to locations the ohotopass people take more than one photo.

Most DLR character photo ops will not have a PP with the exception of PFF, Mickey's house, A&E and Olaf. There can be ones at places like Pooh & Friends or Lightning/Mater but it's not consistent. Just the other day I got in line for Mickey on Main St. Just before I got to the front the PP left. I saw him about 20 minutes later working crowd control for the parade and Mickey had no PP. You tend to only get 2-3 shots at character greets, but there have been times where I've only gotten 1 shot, like at the sign in Carsland and at the old Rapunzel one. A good tip is to go to the photo center before the end of your trip to see if you want to retake any shots that aren't quite what you wanted. If it's something like A&E which you need an FP for and will probably only do once I'd still give your camera as a backup in case someone's eyes are closed or something. As far as best locations, you really have to take the spots where the PPs are located as this time of year they tend to be fixed. What you can do is ask which magic shots are available at each location. So you might get balloons at the castle and train station to see which one turns out best. Or Tink at the partner's statue and castle to have 2 options.
