Hi everyone.. When we did the photo pass last Fall we only took about 2 pics from 4 parks. How do people make it worth it to buy the disc for $99. Do you randomly go around and look for photographers? I've only seen them at the entrances to the parks.. Or do you find them someplace else? :listen:

I am wondering because if you go to the Magic Kingdom and take a few pics, then go back a day later and do that again won't it be the same type of pics with the background, etc? You can't add attraction photos to this can you?

I think the disc thing is a great idea, and would love to be able to utilize it! :wizard:

We get our photos taken by the WDW photographers as often as we can..even in the same parks and places, as some photos just come out better than others. The quality of the pictures is often determined on how good the photographer is (some are better than others of course), the weather that day, and how people actually smile in a photo. That way we can pick and choose the photos we really like..There is no cost of course and you are more than welcome to have as many pictures taken as you want, which is great. That is why we have our photo taken often... :sunny:

We spent 9 days in Disney in January....we had 59 photos on our PhotoPass....most of them were done when DD & DS were getting autographs with the characters.

We spent over $100.00 ordering pics once we got home...this May....we're going to buy the cd.

We were there for 7 days in January and had 168 pictures on pur photopass cd which made it worth the cost. We had pictures taken at the park entrances and there were photographers with the characters almost every time. We also found photographers at night in the parks and had our picture with the lighted Cinderella's Castle and Spaceship Earth. I think if you can get a lot of pictures it is worth the cost! of course I'm a shutterbug, so I had my digital and SLR going the whole time, too. You don't want to know how many pictures I took!!! You might think I am a little crazy!

How does photopass work exactly? I know you can buy the photo cd for $99 but then you have to print out all the pictures yourself and wind up paying for the prints anyway? I'm a little confused. Can someone please explain?

That's right. By paying the $99, you get the CD and the rights to have the pictures printed by whoever you'd like.

It's a good value if (like a poster above) you normally buy a lot of the photos at WDW anyway, since those range from $12-$19 each. This way, you own them all and can have them printed in whatever sizes/amounts you'd like.

The CD seems like the way to go :cheer2:

I couldn't figure out if they have photographers in different areas that we didn't know about. Did someone mention that they used them for character photos?

I'd like to try the CD. We went with another couple last Sept. What we did was group photos of the 4 of us, they bought one at MK, we bought one at MGM, Typhoon Lagoon, etc... So we each bought two and went over to Walgreens and copied it for $1.99.

I have always defended Disney if people have commented that Disney is too expensive, where else can you be entertained for an entire day + fireworks? But, I have to agree when I hear about pictures being overpriced. I think they would sell ALOT more if they came down a little on the price. With that being said.... Come'on September!!!

Yes, I did. Many of the photo opportunities with the characters have a FastPass CM taking pictures there. It was a relief for me, knowing that good pics would be taken of the kids...mine don't come out well sometimes, esp. the indoor shots...too much redeye.

I am going for 3 1 day trips in May and June (one with each child). Can I get all 3 trips on the same photopass and get them all on the same $99 CD? Thanks.

Photopass pix are available online for 30 days after being claimed - so if last June trip is within 30 days of 1st May trip, you should be set. If not maybe you can delay "claiming" them for a few weeks until 4 weeks before last June trip? Just an idea.

on 4-7 and bought the CD. I had 120 some pics on my card and they saved them as is. Then they took the pictures and cropped them, added borders, character signatures etc. In all I have a total of 184 pics on my CD. Worth it? You bet. Just be aware when you go to buy it the process takes 10-15 minutes because of all that.

I would give it to every photographer I could find. I was very disappointed not to get a picture of spaceship earth in EPCOT. I didn't see anyone either going in or out at night. Also at the character autograph places some just took the "posed" picture while others took some interaction shots as well.

I hope they continue this as if I don't print the first picture (which I did :teeth: ) I still have all the memories saved on disk.

We had a ton on our cards from our 9 day trip. Plus if you are going with another family or friends, you can combine your cards, purchase 1 CD and split the cost.

Are these cds copyable? I'm going with 3 friends so if we each chip in the $25 can I make 3 other copies?

Cfyer- how did you get so many pics? Did they add pics from your digital camera on it? Sorry to sound so dense... :guilty:

There are PhotoPass CM's everywhere, not just at entrances and character meetings. There is one outside of Crystal Palace that gets a great shot of you and the castle with only green grass in between....there are a bunch down the street with the Tower of Terror in the background and we saw a bunch around Animal Kingdom that included the tree in the background.

Just walk up to them and give them your PhotoPass card and ask for a picture. Most will take 2-3 pics and some of the 'cutest' ones are the ones where they add in Stitch or Tinkerbell. We got Stitch added in AK and MGM and Tinkerbell added in MK.

a photopass photographer I had our pictures taken. My kids did alot of character autographs and so we got alot there. And, as I said before, they give you all of the "originals" plus the ones they add borders, autographs, etc to.

Hope this helps.

I think the more interested you look the more pics they will take. At epcot when we went in to see the characters...they took a total for 40 pictures of the kids and the characters. Fabulous!! I tired to post a link but I forgot my orginal login so I don't have a enough post to show you the pictures but they got some great ones of my 3 month old son trying to eat Mickey's nose!! TOO CUTE!

Where do you get a card? This is all very new to me.

about this spliting the card...can you get like two cards with the same number or code on it?

We are going with my sil/bil/and kids and we would love to havea ll of ours on one disk so we can each just pay $50 for it...but we are not all always going to be going thru the parks together....we are going our own way....

I am really wanting to do this if It is worth it to me...if you don't buy the disk can you just save them when you have the 30 days to look at them?

You can get the card from any Disney photographer. Be careful with how many pics you take.....we took close to 20 and I bought 12 and it cost me over $200 with the 30% discount they give you online. It's worth buying the $100 CD before you leave if you know you've taken more than...say....10 pics.
