photopass confuses me

We have the memories package and go in 16 days!!!!
The deal was free dining but you buy a 20 pg photobook. So I need a photpass. What is the cost of the photopass? We've never used one. Last trip it was my son's bday and we got a photopass in our package but didn't use it. I didn't relaize there is a cost. What will the photopass cost me? and are there other fees I need to know about?

The photopass service itself is free. You will see photographers stationed throughout the 4 parks and at some restaurants ( Chef Mickey, Tusker House and 1900 Park Fare to name a few). Ask them for the card (also free) and they will gladly take your photo.

When you return home you can go the photopass website and upload the photos from the cards into your photobook. You can also buy other items and photos in the park or online (they range in price). You can get the CD for $99 if you purchase it before your trip (its $150) if you buy it after or on your trip. This will include all of your photos from your trip and you can add borders or edit them before they send you the CD. We always buy the CD ahead of time when we’re at WDW for more than 3 or 4 days because we always wind up with many photos and purchasing the prints individually can be expensive (I think a 5x7 is around $12 each). Another tip: I booked through AAA last year and got a FREE photopass CD as long as I used the card that came with my package.

I pre purchased the Photopass CD in 2008--we took one photo, I purchased it and got my money back for the CD--which isn't/wasn't easy to do. So make sure you like photos before you invest in the CD. Otherwise I love the photopass photographers and their pics. I usually get a couple each trip.
