I ve never bothered with the pics or etc before at disney as we have had our own digital camera, now being there for nearly 3 weeks this time with mum and dad, i think i might like to use this photo pass cd thing.Ive seen some cute pics, particularly the one with tink in a little girls hand, my dd would love that.

But i need to know excatly how it works, i keep reading conflicting information about it on here, do you buy it first or after?

How do they know to put it on if you do it after, do you have to tell photographers?
does it take hoursin shop going through them, can you do it at home?

can you add your own pictures to it?

will they do 2 discs the same so mum and dad can have a copy, or are they copyable at home so we can burn them a copy??
How much is it currently?

sorry for so many ???:confused3

Thanks you lot are always so helpful.:goodvibes

Hi,
I have been reading about this on another board as I am interested in purchasing too.
According to disers its best to purchase the CD when you get home. but there is a time limit, disney don't keep your photos forever!
You can add your own graphics, effects and even character autographs etc on the disney photopass website and add them to your cd before purchasing. This is what other disers advise.
I did query on thread if disney ships the cd's to the UK, it hasn't been clarified yet!
another tip fellow disers advise is that you
mention to every photopass photographer that you intend to purchase a cd and they make more effort, sometimes this means more time with characters and special poses.
that's all I know so far, hope it helps. Look over on the non uk theme park strat board the thread is over there.

The photopass photographers are great but you have to approach them I have learned. the other tips I have picked up are to get more than one shot at a time so that at least one good one will come out, tell them if you want special poses like holding Tink as they won't automatically offer, and get shots at everyone you see so you have lots to choose from, then the cd will be better value. The photo cd can be shipped to the uk.
The cd costs $124.95 but doesn't include tax or shipping, and there is a copyright certificate in the software so you may have problems burning the disc but i don't know for sure. Hope this helps,

I am very interested in this also. I plan on getting loads of pics as it is our honeymoon, but I wasn't quite sure how the photopass thing worked. So the best suggestion is to buy in when you comeback to the UK? Do you get some code or something to put into the webpage to pick your pictures?

We bought the photopass CD last year. We got a photopass when we first arrived and, as fizz said, approached a photographer every time we saw one. We also picked up the photopass wrist bands from the photographers at the water parks and had some pictures done there. We also had 2 different photopass cards from the Halloween parties.

When we got home, we went to the web address given on the back of the card, entered all the different numbers from each photopass card, then were able to view all our pictures. You can order prints seperately but they're pretty expensive (about $15 a go) so we paid $99.95 + shipping for the CD with all our pictures on. It arrived about a week later and had over 50 pictures on, some of which were pretty great shots.

The thing we like about it as it is good for getting pictures with all of us in, which very rarely happens as one of us is usually taking the picture.

I must add, though, that they no longer offer the special pictures with Tink and Stitch in, like they used to do at MK and MGM :sad2:

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask away.

Edited to add: When we were there in October, you were able to get the ride photo from Test Track added to your photopass and I believe the plan is to add that facility on more rides int he future, which would be great.

The bad news is the price has gone up to $124.99 + shiping and handling. :sad2:

Some other disers (I often lurk on the US threads) say that you could add the photos that the photographers at character meals take, but somebody else suggested that disney have stopped this "loophole" as the seperate character photo sessions make them [disney] quite a few bucks! :confused3
Any parents will know the pressure of pester power and it's hard (even though you have to) say no to little johnny when he asks for all the pictures that the photograper took of him with his fav character....after all, this is what WDW is all about for the kids.

so is it true you cant get the tink pictures anymore, i rearly wanted one of those? do they do them in the other parks?

We bought the CD from our December trip as well. There were lots of really good photos on the disc so we found it well worth the money. They weren't doing the Tink in December :sad1:

If/when you take it to have your photos printed you must remember and take your copyright letter with you, I forgot mine and ASDA wouldn't print them till they'd seen it.

No, it's true - they stopped doing it when the photopass CD was introduced, I believe.

Thanks for bringing this topic up, I didn't know anything about it but it does sound like a really good thing to buy. As Wilma-bride said it is hard to get a photo with the whole family in so I quite fancy doing this.:goodvibes

How many photo's can they get on a CD, is there a limit?

We got over 300 on our Photopass CD. Many with Tink, Simba & Stitch on. However, this was May last year, so it would be a shame if they've stopped doing Tink.

Richard, Thanks for sharing your photos there lovely. I've got one of my DD's holding simba at AK. It's a shame if they dont do the photos with you holding or looking at a character anymore. We also had one taken at MGM we had to hold a hat then when they printed it it had Stitch in it.

The Photo CD is a great idea i didnt realise you could get 300 photos on it, thats great. It's something we'll definitely be doing, not sure tho whether we'll buy it while were there or when we get home.

Thanks for the interesting thread. :goodvibes

Not long for us now :cool1: :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay: :cloud9:

I think we will be taking advantage of photopass when we go, as other people have said its hard to get a group photo.

Hello

I have heard bits and bobs about these cds and they sound brilliant, we wanted so many on our trip last time. Can you buy the cd while at disney world? Sorry i can never wait too long, lol. If so where from?

How long do the photos stay online for? if i do this option. What are the benifits of doing online and how much would tax and shipping be?

Donna

We had some extra characters added when we were there in January - some of them we didn't even know about until we got home and looked at the pictures. Don't know if you can burn copy the CD but you can certainly copy the contents to your own PC and you could then burn whatever you wanted onto another CD, including some of your own photos.

Night time shots take up less space than daytime shots apparantly. Can get around 400 on a CD

Postage is same to UK as USA at the moment but only have 30 days on the site before they start getting deleted. This can make it tight if you have a long trip. We looked at the site while we were out there and decided the number of options were not worth waiting for. You can get the CD burned at any of the 4 parks at the main photo centres. Takes about 10 minutes.

Even with the price increase I think this is a great idea - and there are more and more photographers appearing at different spots!

The first thing I did was to back up my copy when we got home (Okay...the second - the first was crashing out on the bed for a couple of hours). I used Nero to back it up (I did the same with the Vacation DVD as well).:thumbsup2

Please can someone confirm how they work out the 30 days, is it from the date of the first photo or the last? Thanks

you can do a photo book and a photo movie as well now with the photopass photos
I got the photo book done of our last holiday with some of my own photos in it too
really pleased with it
worked out a lot cheaper then getting all the photos printed and then having to get a album
done it on the web site

can't confirm it 100% but I think it is from the first time you download them on to the web site
