My family and I are going on our first Disney trip in EIGHT YEARS - the last time we went we were newlyweds and our son was only 18 months old (and stayed home with grammy as it was our honeymoon LOL). Anyway, we're trying to do Disney on somewhat of a budget - but I keep reading on here about the PhotoPass CD and how it's amazing. Is it really that worth it??

Yes . You get some great photos. We did it last year and already pre-ordered it for this year.
There is a link to pre-order for $99 Just search this site to find the link.

I absolutely agree. I ordered the Photo Pass CD from our last trip and I'm so glad I did. I knew I was going to order it so I was very intentional about getting our picture taken by the photographers everywhere. This way I worried much less about getting that perfect shot with my own camera. And you can edit the pictures with a ton of borders, characters, etc. before you order it so you can really have fun with creating unique photos. I'll be ordering it again for our trip this September.

We get it every time. We go into our vacation knowing we can tell the photopass photographers to snap away to capture all of those moments for us. We get our group shots without hassle. We can add Test Track and the portraits from any meal packages that we have purchased. We even had a Boardwalk private photography session on our last trip that we were able to add (even though we got the CD from the session, I look at it as backup).

It is usually cheaper to prepurchase.

Love the CD. We had about a hundred pics and then once I got around to editing with borders, etc, it was about 200! I really think it was worth it.

I didn't even know that you could pre-order last time I went so when I got home, I think I ordered 7 pics and paid about $75.....Now I know that I can spend $99 and then print every pic that I want!!!!!!! Or upload them to snapfish and print them for CHEAP! It works out to be a great deal.

Anyone know how early you can pre-order the CD before the trip? I just don't want to forget it.

If you are going less than 5 days at the park I don't feel it is pressing. If you are going more, it is less than 20$ a day for pictures all over of you and your family. With the Disney friends.

I think the price is reasonable for what you get.

I get on every trip over 5 days at the park.

We always do it, I would do it for sure! Well worth it.

Totally worth it!
Originally I was worried about the cost also but in the end I ended up buying the CD.

When we were in Disney I used all 400 pictures on my camera card and didn't have a spare or my laptop. So they put the pictures on my photopass. So when I bought the CD my 400 pictures were there too.
Way cool!

I had no idea they could do that. That's neat. Now, we always travel with two memory cards, especially to Disney and still manage usually 600 Photopass pictures! (I think the CDs hold 999... What else holds 999? The Haunted Mansion, of course!)

At first, it seems like a good amount of $$. However, the pics taken by the Dis photographers are great. The formatting/borders feature is great. Also- if you order a pic or two without doing the pre-paid CD, chances are you'll be paying around $100 anyway.

I wish i knew about the pre-paid CD option before my trip last year. We had tons of great pics that we never ordered because after the trip we were running low on $$!

I recently (Spring 2010) had my father, sibs (7) and their wives/kids (24) in WDW and we all used Photopass.

After trip, I got everybody's Photopass numbers, combined them onto my account and had Disney burn the CD. It actually was over 500 photos and took 2 CDs.

Suggestion is to tell everyone not to go into/make their own Photopass account because I lost all the edits (only had raw picks) everyone made on their own Photopass accounts. It would have been better to make one account, merge all the photopasses, have everyone make edits to their own photos, and then order the CDs.

Of course, this would mean having everyone share one account username/password. But if you can't trust family, who can you trust?

Can I use the photopass at Disney and on the cruise? I am not doing a package deal. I have planned them all separetly.

I was under the impression that the pictures you take yourself need to be purchased on an entirely different CD than the regular photopass cd...
Or am I missing something?? If we can get our own photos added to the photopass from our memory card AND get the photos from the park, it's a no-brainer.

Can anyone confirm?

I wouldn't spend $99 just to have my own photos burned to a CD. I can do that at home for about $.10.

But I thought it was great to hear that they can help people out who exceed their memory card storage. I can't think of anywhere on property to buy a second memory card, although I suppose they might have them in the photo shops. (I know you can't buy a watch battery anywhere on property... Go figure, with all of the watch stores and jewelers...)

Does anyone have the link to pre-order the cd? I've been looking for it and can't seem to find it. Thanks!
