I'm sorry if this is one of those redundant questions that gets asked a lot, but I haven't been to Disney World in about 18 months and I feel out of the loop :P

My DH & I are going back to Disney in May. Is there still an offer to pre-order the photo pass CD for $99 before your trip? And if there is, I cannot remember do they charge you when you pre-order, or when you order the CD? I'm thinking the last time I ordered, I paid for it when I pre-ordered, and then when I got home and made the CD, I just paid somewhere around $8 for shipping?

Yep, you pay the preorder now and then when you finally order the CD you pay shipping and stuff only.

How long to you have to view/edit/purchase? Is it 30 days after you check out of Disney? Does anyone know if you can log in while at Disney and see what photos they have already shot of your family? Or does your 30 days start after you log in?
(sorry so many ?s and thanks)

Logged on to find a price of $149.95... In 2006, w only paid $99 when I purchased it at the parks....

Thanks to you fellow disers (my BFFs) I just pre ordered my photopass cd for only $99.95 :yay:

We leave next Friday for our great week in the great world.... Happy to be able to have some family shots while we're there :)

I have pre-ordered the CD several times before. In the past, you were only billed after you activated your account after you returned home. I have already been billed on my credit card. Have they changed how they do pre-orders, or is this a mistake??

i just got a letter from Photopass about 30 days out from my trip urging you to register the card now before your trip to get special offers.

I was a little leary but did it anyways. Am I now ineligibile for the pre order? Have not recieved any special offers yet.

You are charged for the Prepurchsed CD at the time you order it.

You have 30 days from the time you enter the first photopass card -- so to the PP -- if you log-in and enter a photopass card number during your trip, you will start the 30-day "clock" running. You can extend the 30 days by a week or two weeks for a fee. The days of a free extension are gone. Now if there is a special circumstances such as you waited until the very last day to order your CD(s), and the site is down for whatever reason, you can call and they will probably give you an extension. But you may not want to wait until the last day to order just in case they change that policy as well.

And you absolutely must prepurchase the CD prior to the first photo being taken or you will not have any photos taken prior to the purchase included on your CD.

I just went through all of this in December, so the "rules" may have changed since then, but I would be surprisd. :)

To the OP, hope you have a great trip! :)

The only thing you have to pay for later is shipping. It cost me less then $3.

When we went in Dec we had 30 days from the day the picture was taken. not when we entered the card.

I hope this is the case since I preordered it and received my photopass card with my mickey mail then registered it all already... we had over 30 days to go before our trip even began! oh boy...

There are two separate 30 day windows. You have 30 days from when the first picture on your card was taken to add the card to your account. From the day you add the first card to your account, you have 30 days to edit your pictures and order your CD.

I've never registered the photopass card I get in the mail. I don't know for sure if this is how it works but I suspect that you're basically doing away with that first 30 day window and starting that second 30 day countdown the moment you take the first picture if you register that card which comes in the mail.

I've always been charged for my pre-order right away when I place the order for it. When I go to order the final CD all I'm charged is the shipping.

I've done it since '07 and the charge has always come at the time of the pre-order.

You can still pre-order. The special offers lure sometimes never results in special offers, but I've also read that they email you offers *while you're at WDW*, so if you don't have a computer with you, you can be out of luck.

stitchkingdom.com's photopass guide says:

"Guests who are concerned that pre-registering the card may trigger the 30 day deletion clock on all added photos can simply acquire new cards on site to use, however Disney's PhotoPass has advised that the deletion clock only begins once the photos are actually viewed online, not when the card itself is added to the account."

fac, from the pre-order page:

"If for any reason you are not satisfied with your photos and decide you no longer wish to order your product(s), just let us know and we can remove the credit from your cart and grant you a full refund.

Please note however, once a credit has been applied to an order, a refund will not be granted. "
