Right girls we need your opinions. At the moment we have STVS booked for the videography and Misty Miotto booked for our photography. At the moment we have STVS booked to film us for four and a half hours of the day and to come back for the dessert party. We have Misty booked for six hours for the day and they Disney are going to do our photos for the dessert party.

Now we are thinking of changing and only having STVS for the day but asking him to film in HD and asking Misty to stay for unlimited coverage of the whole day and not using Disney.

What do you all think of this change of plan. Do you think it is wise?

Is a dessert party something that needs to be filmed? I also worried about what Misty will be doing whilst we eat our dinner as we are only a group of 12 will she be taking photos of us eating and do you think this will be uncomfortable for our group?

All our opinions and advice will be greatly received.

we too have stan for 4 hours and misty for 6!!

we are leaving stan at 4 hours as I dont think the dessert party needs to be filmed but we are changing misty to unlimited i think so we can caapture everything.

We are paying for deli plates for misty and her husband while we eat our meal as well so they get to have a break, there didnt cost much either so that might be an option to go with

i think that the desert party really does not need to be tapped. but if you can aford it why not!! and eventhought you think all you are doing is eating i am sure you might have some great candid shots during that time also gives you and dh time for more creative posed shots. with photography i feel the more the merrier.
hope this helps

I also don't think the dessert party needs to be filmed. The fireworks never look that great, and they have to use a big strobe light that blitzes everything out.

I didn't think we needed pictures of us eating at our wedding reception, so I asked our photographers to take a lunch break. I think with 12 people, there won't be a whole lot to shoot. On the other hand, when I was making a photo book of the day, I wished I had a few more shots of people eating... but at least I had a ton of gorgeous pictures of the food!

So if you can afford it, you may as well have Misty stay through the reception - I'm sure she'll come up with some creative shots of people eating! :thumbsup2

Just wanted to say that I don't think I'd want the DP filmed. I mean, how often do you think you'd watch that? The ceremony and reception, yes, but I don't think the DP is necessary to have on tape. I'd rather have more still photography. And as for lunch, I think you'd definitely want to give Misty a lunch break to eat something and take a short rest. HTH!

I'm looking into having Stan for filming and Misty for photos. And we'll be having a DP too! Great minds! I agree with everyone here that the DP doesn't need to be filmed. It'll be dark out so it'd be difficult to film and people can be blinded by the lighting. The fireworks always looked so much more magical in still photos. HTH! =)
