I'm curious if anyone has been on a guided photography tour. I am looking into tours that include some kind of instruction as I am a novice. I've taken a basic DSLR 101 class and would love to combine travel with a little more advance instruction. Any info you can give is helpful!

judy,

i don't know if you're looking for a tour specifically at wdw or orlando, but if you ever make it to washington DC there is an outfit called Washington Photo Safari. they offer a number of different tours at reasonable prices. i learned a TON about my camera and about taking pictures. well worth it. i'd like to know about similar tours in other areas myself!

never been but a good idea since esp. on vacation you could see good spots to take shots.
i think some photo clubs in my area do it but just for their members. maybe if i ever upgrade my body I'll join one, right now i 'd be embarrassed so go with all the "high enders" . they'd probably make me walk 10 steps behind them ( IE "rebel xt? patoo, i spit on you" ):rotfl: :rotfl:

That sounds like fun...Maybe next year we can visit Washington...Great idea. Thanks

I've actually helped out in running a few, or assisting in the instruction of a few. There are two groups I know of down here in South Florida that offer instructional photo tours at local wetlands preserves for wildlife photography and basic 101-style instruction is given on using a DSLR. I also know of a photo group that meets up at Disney each year - it's a general photography gathering that includes everything from basic DSLR-101 stuff to photo safaris and different instructionals (night photos in Epcot, Animal photos on the AK walks, dark ride techniques, etc). I don't want to break any rules on posting other Disney sites, but they do have a website - send me a PM and I'd be glad to give you the site address to check it out.

Your silly!! You know you take beautiful photos! No one would know if it was a Mark III or a Rebel :D

Nikon offers classes at various times for different dSLR issues all around the country.

We have a local photo shop that does tours sponsored by different camera companies. Nikon will do one, Canon will do a different one, Tamron, etc... At each of those tours you can use different equipment supplied by the camera company.

Best bet is to check with the larger camera companies in your area. Or look for Photography Clubs.

I just sent you a PM. It will be from kdonnel because I didn't realize I was browsing under dh's name. I appreciate it.

That is exactly what I was looking for. I have so much left to learn but can't imagine sitting in a class again.
