I want to schedule a surprise photography session for my sister and her husband when we're there for my wedding. I have no idea what kind of photography is available to normal resort guests. (I SO wish I could book them the MK or Epcot Bridal session, she would love it). Could I book them a photo session in a park? In a hotel? What are the prices, and what do you get for that price? All photos? Only some?

Thanks!

I am unsure if this is true, but I remember our wedding planner stating the in park shoots are for Disney Brides only. But you could always check with one of the planners.

Actually if you call Disney Photo and ask I'm sure that they would be willing to help. I'm not sure if they would do a shoot in the parks but they will probably do it at one of the resorts. PM me if you need the number.

You can go to www.collages.net/disneyweddings

User Name: Disney Photography Samples

Password: 1971

Once it opens up, you can view samples of wedding photos, family portraits, conventions, etc. There is also contact information available.

I'm not sure what they do for Family Portraits in the parks, but if you call or email them, I'm sure they'll be able to help.

You can also consider doing a Photopass Resort Portrait Session. It's about 30 minutes at several resorts and it's a pretty good deal. DH and I did our session at the Poly in August and we were pleased with the pictures we got.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the help!

Highwaygal, How many photos did you get in your resort photo session? Did you get digital copies? an album? was it very expensive for what you got? Thanks so much!!

We got 50 photos at our resort session and yes, we eventually got digital copies. The way we did it (with Photopass) was we pre-purchased the CD about a month before our trip. It's cheaper that way - $99 if pre-purchased and $125 if ordered after. We called ahead and scheduled the session for one of the days we were there. When we got to the parks, we used our Photopass card for EVERYTHING! Every time we saw a Photopass photog, we had our picture taken (usually two or three shots each). We used the same card for our resort session and the photog took about 50 photos all around the Poly.

When we got home we reviewed all the pictures (in total we had about 150), added borders and other embellishments and then ordered the CD. After it was all said and done we had almost 450 pictures on that CD. And we can have them printed anywhere.

You can look up some info on photopass at these links:

Since you kinda want to do this as a gift, you can pre-purchase the CD for them, and give them all the info when they arrive so they can order the CD later.

Just my opinion I would go with an outside photographer. We swapped for our Disney Wedding and got a outside professional photographer. Then for our honeymoon shoot we had this guy (who friendly at times) you could tell didn't really care about what he was doing when taking out picture. Had that been our wedding photographer I would have been really upset because the pictures were horrible.

Maybe 99% of disney photographers are great and we got the one bad apple.
Don't know

Randy Chapman is who we used and he was above and beyond great.

Now the videographer is another story didn't care for our final product

Thanks again guys! I appreciate the help!

I hadnt thought of using an outside photographer. My only concern with using them is getting photos in the park, since outside photogs are not allowed in there to take pics. But if I can't get them a package in a park anyway, it might be worth looking into!

Yeah I would get an outside photographer for your wedding. For inside the park you'll just have to settle for the Disney photographers. Maybe you can request certain photographers. Really some of them may be a lot better than others I just have nothing to compare it to.
