Funny you should ask :rotfl2:, as you know there are not a lot of cows roaming around Los Angeles and I have not come across any yet in my travels. So I had it in my mind that they sometimes have a cow at Disneyland (I think she might be a Holstein) in the Woody's Roundup area. Last time we went no cow. So this time I started thinking about the cow and udders and all of a sudden thought about the goats, they have udders. So we went by early in the morning and it was not open so we went back over to Disneyland for dinner and ran back to catch the goats. Walking up they were closing the gate for the night. :scared1: I am dodging and weaving around to see if I can catch a glimpse of an udder through the fence. I noticed that they were rounding up the goats to put them away for the night and they were coming close to the fence. So I am down low snapping away trying to catch something through the fence. I look up and all of these people are looking at me and :confused3. They just did not understand. Here are all of the goats leaving for the night but you could not really see any udders.

Ha! Too funny! ("What's up with that guy?") :rotfl2:

I'm supposed to be packing to go away but thought I'd sneak this one in quickly!

Everyone is doing so well! Thanks to you all for showing us different parts of the world, and also giving some history lessons! It is geat to learn new things!

For today,
Foggy:
IMG_2901.jpg

(We don't often get fogs here in Brisbane, especially in winter, so when I woke up on Thursday and saw this, I got out the camera quickly, because I thought it would be the best I could do!!! Little did I know....)

IMG_2903.jpg

This is what I woke up to on Friday!!! Same street, different days! This was a real pea-souper! Closed the airport and stopped the ferries on the river. Sydney also had a bad fog on the same day also closing their airport. Caused chaos all day!! In Brisbane this would really happen at most once or twice a year. Our airports close more often for storms than fog!! What followed this was the most glorious winter's day we have had for a while - temps of around 75-78deg F (25-26C), and beautiful sunshine. Perfect! Even better - I had the day off!!!

Home from WDW. Have to sort out those photos. Here's one I took tonight at a Thai restuarant where we went to dinner.

Frosty Beer:

Great pictures everyone! I too have been enjoying seeing your part of the world and to see montages of your lives. Thanks for sharing.

This week saw low tides in Melbourne; not quite a neap tide, but close enough.

Barnacles

0728BarnaclesJuly25.jpg

Buoy Claiming point, which I didn't do in the previous post #605. Still hoping for Buoy, with bird, on buoy.

0728BuoyJuly25.jpg

Bird's nest It's too cold for nesting season....so I think this is leftover from last year and I found it in a very secluded spot by the beach.

0728BirdsnestJuly25.jpg

Drive-thru Attendant* Where else but Macca's?

0729DrivethruattendantJuly29.jpg

Kitten No one I know has a kitten; so I snapped this from a pet shop window.

0729KittenJuly29.jpg

Origami

0728OrigamiJuly25.jpg

Onion rings Burger King is known as Hungry Jack's in Australia!

0729OnionRingsJuly29.jpg

Starfish No extra points claimed as I have already previously posted a picture. This shows how low the tide was....these starfish were completed exposed to the open air.

0728StarfishJuly25.jpg

Sundial* This (rare) human sundial is a feature in the paving of a Melbourne city gardens.

0728SundialAJuly27.jpg

Here's the information about the sundial.

0728SundialCJuly27.jpg

This is where you stand on the appropriate line marking your height.

0728SundialDJuly27.jpg

It was about 12.30 pm when I snapped this picture of MYSELF as the gnomon for the sundial!

0728SundialEJuly27.jpg

And this one is totally unnecessary - but it provides you with the perspective of the dimension of the sundial.

0728SundialBJuly27.jpg

Yankee I've been on the look-out for a US tourist wearing a NY Yankees cap or t-shirt. Imagine my surprise when I saw this shop!!

Thanks to Shushh's tip about the Melbourne Museum, I got these items!

Dragonfly Replacement shot of previous post (dragonfly on a birthday card!) and legitimizing the claim.

0730DragonflyBJuly30.jpg

Frisbee in flight* I found these people playing with their frisbee near the Melbourne Museum. I took the opportunity to take this shot of the chance encounter. No extra points claimed as item was posted previously.

0730FrisbeeinflightJuly30.jpg

Katydid*

0730KatydidJuly30.jpg

Ring toss Game Replaces previous picture of the Ring Toss only. These school children are obviously playing a game! No extra points claimed.

0730RingtossgameJuly30.jpg

I also went to visit the Fire Services Museum, in search of....

Ladder extended on Fire Truck**

I found MODELS of the item...

0730LadderextendedonFireTruckBJuly30.jpg

and the item depicted in this oil painting.

0730LadderextendedonFireTruckAJuly30.jpg

A couple of other items....

Bespectacled*

0731BespectacledJuly31.jpg

Sunset* No extra points claimed. These are replacement shots.

Both shots were taken on the same evening....I had hopes that this sunset would develop into the lovely pink and orange hues I'm hoping to get...
0731SunsetAJuly31.jpg

But the clouds rolled in from I don't know where...and leaving me with Evening (Replacing previous shot).

Pea N Me - These will need adjudication :)

These two items are the Australian equivalents and I'm hoping that I can claim the points for these.

Rodent, wild The Australian equivalent of the squirrel is the Possum. This marsupial is nocturnal and roams through the suburbs and country eating fruit and generally being a pest (sometimes).

This stuffed Ring Tailed Possum was taken at the Melbourne Museum and is an example of what it looks like. I picked this species because I figured this was the most prevalent variety in Melbourne.....

0730RodentinwildEJuly30.jpg

I've been searching for one around my home (at night) for the last 6 weeks; but I've had no success. I think that the cold chases me indoors and to bed just before the possums come out. In any case, I haven't heard any running around my roof for weeks!

I've also been hunting them in the city gardens and searching every possible hidey-hole at eye level that a possum could sleep in during the day. I can see appropriate spots higher up in trees; but they are too high for me to get to. I finally found this tree this week!

0730RodentinwildAJuly30.jpg

I suspect that the clicking of the camera woke this little fellow up!

0730RodentinwildCJuly30.jpg

Because it looked up and straight at me! Here is my submission for Rodent, wild. Judging by the pink nose, this is a bushy-tailed possum!!! Can I claim the point?

0730RodentinwildDJuly30.jpg

Tomahawk* Tomahawks are ILLEGAL in Australia and as a consequence it is impossible to find any tomahawks anywhere (and even if I did find one, I would probably not post it as I have no idea if the authorities look at this forum)! But hey - why let that stop me? Here's my submission!

These are indigenous Aboriginal Axes, which I would like to submit as the Australian equivalent for Tomahawk*. Can I claim the 2 points?

0730TomahawkaustralianAJuly30.jpg

0730TomahawkAustralianBJuly30.jpg

princess::upsidedow

And yes.....here is this week's category stretch! (These are getting harder and harder for me to find :rotfl2:). I would like to claim an extra point for this one.....

Jeep, off road* I found this 4-wheel (and probably all-wheel) drive variety in the urban jungle that is sometimes called a shopping mall.

0729JeepoffroadJuly29.jpg

If allowed, it will replace the previous picture of jeep only. If not allowed the extra point, the previous picture stands!
