Photographing Pets

I posted these on the spring assignment thread but thought they'd work here too. My subject = my DS and dog = mud. :rotfl:

Taken with my S3 - nice to finally use it outdoors. ;)

...... shifletjl, what is life like with a Corgi? I imagine a lot like a GSD only smaller? Nice color in your photos, what kind of camera are you using?

Thanks. I'm using a Pentax K100D. I'm finally getting outside with it. Hurray for Spring!

Life with a corgi is ACTIVE. If she gets bored, she gets into trouble. They are real characters, but so much fun!

That is an awesome pic of Crookshanks... and then the caption!! I have to share with some cat friends

Cat #1 - Tigger

Cat #2 - Shadow

Cat #3 - Stitch

Dog #1 - Frankie

Dog #2 - Clifford

What a beautiful dog Frankie is!! Is he a Husky or a Malamute? How big is he? Would love to see another picture of him running or standing...

I think he's a husky, but I don't really know for sure. All our animals have come to us as strays/shelter pets/free to good home ads, so I'm never 100% sure on breed. We know Clifford is 50% chocolate lab because she was from an unwanted litter and we got her from her mother's owners, but Frankie came from the county shelter so I don't really know anything about his breed. He's about 80 lbs, but his fluff makes him look much bigger. :)

Here's a not very good pic of him stretching, but it gives a better idea of his size.

Unfortunately, being a sledding breed, Frankie wasn't real happy with our 1/4 acre yard (and he's smarter than any dog I've ever met - he figured out how to open our kidproof gate latch so he could go running! we figure that's probably how he ended up in a shelter to begin with), so we found him a forever home with a friend who has acreage outside of town. Otherwise I'd just snap a new shot of him now.

I just love everyone's pictures! I love animals so they are all just so adorable. Here's my kids...

Here is my "son" - Kaht which is short for King Alexander Hyper-Troublemaker. He was a kitten when my mom rescued him (he was the neighbors' cat and they abused him to no end.) He's now 16 and living with us since my mom passed away. He's my baby boy! for 13 years he was an outdoor cat and for the past 3 years he's been strictly an indoor cat and he hates the outdoors now!

And one with his "costume":

And her is my little girl - Muffy; she's a border collie mix we adopted (from our local shelter) when she was 9 months old. She'll be 3 in June. She is definitely a lot of fun!!

and here's another I took with my camera phone:

Minerva is adjusting to being an 'only" cat. She still hides when she hears thunder though...

I also managed to get her pretty profile when she was birdwatching.

These are my kitties-- they didn't use to get along very well, but now they've gotten used to each other and feel the love by sharing my chair! (I never get to sit in that thing!)

This is Rink, my little Shih-Tzu passed out on the floor:
