Photographing Pets

Thank you, Susan. She is surely my sunshine. And all I know is that if I were to drop dead running with her (or especially Augusta) on agility course, I would leave this earth a very happy woman.

LMAO Mr. The King! Love the photos... and MichelleVW i think that sometimes when I use to watch the horses at my grandparents... especially when they would get almost to the point where they would be rolling to other side but it lagged just a moment before they did.

Just got my first DSLR and the pets don't complain when I practice on them...so expect a lot of pictures while I practice!!

Cool - so I guess we'll be seeing lots more pictures from you here? :goodvibes (How's Ivan?)

Refresh my memory, what were you shooting with before? And what did you buy? How's it going? :thumbsup2

Ivan's doing great, just heading out now to take some pics of DD riding.

I had a Canon S3 (which I still love) and I got a Canon XSi. DH keeps trying to get me to sell my S3...but it's not going to happen.

I keep my S3 in my purse. In fact, I just bought a second one as my first one was slowly dying. :rotfl:

Congrats and have fun!

Here's a picture of Ivan from yesterday. I'm so glad he's feeling better! :goodvibes Now he needs to get back in shape and put the muscle back on that he lost from a month of standing around!

Here's what she looks like now after being warm and dry and fed!! The first time she went to the vet she was about 5 pounds and that was after feeding her for 5 days. Now she is 11 pounds!! :goodvibes

Awesome Michelle! I dont know how much Miss Kitty weighed when we started feeding her, but she doesnt like to have her bowl even close to being empty... she is fat and sassy now.

My favorite pic of Princess Hollie is to the left !!!

I wish his eyes were more in focus on this one, but the other dog kept getting in my way....:confused3

But I like it anyway since I think Griffey looks so happy to be outside!!

Here is my cat Mr. Kitty. He adopted us a few years ago, just showed up in our front yard out of nowhere and never left. We called the vets, put up flyers, no one claimed him. He was meant to be.
I had just gotten my camera so the settings are probably all wrong but I like how it looks anyway:

This our new dog Grace. We got her from a rescue in Mississippi in September. We hadn't had a dog in 2 years since my precious Page the Black Lab died, my heart was broken but we felt we had to rescue this girly:

Ha! ^^^ What a cute lab!

Here is my little princess Maggie. Her Kennel name is 'Black Frost's Yukon Maggie'

Here she is at about 2 weeks old. We were able to visit her as a young pup. We would go see her every weekend until the 8week mark.
What a little cutie!!

Here she is the same day with her sister. Maggie is the one in the pink yarn. At this point she already had her name. She was named after tv character Maggie Simpson who I am a big fan of!

WONDERFUL pictures!! She's a heart breaker! :thumbsup2 I only wish I had more pictures of mine when he was younger (3mo old when we got him) as he is now over a year and he's no longer a little puppy like he used to be; a whole 16 pounds now!! :scared1:

Wow...just realized I haven't had any photos in here of my cat Mickey since last February, when she had only just been an indoor cat for a month, after having lived outside my house for the first 7 months (I first started feeding her as a stray at about 4-6 weeks old in June 2008).

She's now roughly 1 1/2 years old, but never got any bigger than 6-7lbs - she must have been the runt, and stayed small...she also retains a bunch of kitten energy! Here's a few various recent shots of Mickey around the house:

Staring out the window to see what things happen by is always a favorite pasttime:

One of Mickey's favorite toys...a little mouse (I know...sacreligious!):

One of the interesting resting positions:

Having a bite to eat, with a little lick to clean up:

Another favorite toy...a lizard! Fortunately for the toy, this one is outside the window as it doesn't end as happily for the toy when they're inside! (you can just make out the lizard on the other side of the glass right in front of Mickey's face):

And at night, sleeping in front of the fireplace:
