Sorry this is a little long, here goes.
My family and I had 9:10pm reservation on our first night back at the World. We were so excited. With 2 kids, age 9 and 5, we approached the counter and got our buzzer and patiently waited to get our family pic by the giant plate and Mickey. I handed the photographer our ticket and asked if she would mind taking a pic or 2 with our Nikon D40 Digital SLR that was powered, lens cap off, and ready to snap the pic. Now, there was only one one family that was in line behind us, so time was not an issue, and my camera is very close in design to what they are using, so the camera being complicated to operate was not an issue either. She said no, that she would not take a pic using my camera, I just looked at her and said, are you joking? She stated that it was at the discretion of the photographer, and she would not take the pic using my camera. I have NEVER in the 8 times that I have visited ANYWHERE at WDW, that a Cast Member refused to take a photo. Now, every year, even though I have had the photo taken with my camera, I have purchased the photo taken with my family every time. Why is this an issue now? Can ANYONE explain? When they brought over the photo package and asked if we would like to purchase it, my wife explained what happened, politely, and told her no we would not purchase it because of the circumstances. I thought her jaw was going to hit the floor. She apologized and we never heard back from her. I hope this hasn't happened to any other families. My family and I still remain Loyal Dis fans, AP holders, and DVC Members, just a bad experience on our first day back.
