I read on the Universal website that you can take a photo with ET in Gertie's closet or on a bike. My daughter just saw this movie last night to prepare for Universal, and she would love a photograph like that. Do they still have these photo locations? Does anyone have a picture you could post?

Thanks!
Julie

Yes you can still get it done in the ET gift shop.

Yes they are in the store as you exit the attraction- but you CANNOT use your camera- you must purchase their photo packet.

Good to know. Thanks!

Are photo opportunities like this pretty quick and easy at Universal? It won't be like waiting half an hour to see Mickey, right? ;)

The four times we rode ET there was never a line for the ET pictures. Cost may have something to do with. I think it was about 19.95 for 1 photo ( I could be a wrong with higher packages including several photos). Spongebob by the way was free and you are welcome to use your own camera in the Nicktoons store after Jimmy N.

I've taken pictures with my own camera with ET (I just took one on Dec. 11.) No one said a word. I also use my own camera for other characters like with Spiderman or Barney. Even though they have a camera set up, I've never purchased the picture, just used my own. Sometimes, I let them take a picture but I always tell them that I'm not planning on purchasing it. They just give me a slip of paper with the photo number printed on it.

The only time I've seen anyone told they couldn't use their own camera was for people who were taking a picture of the ride photos (like at photos on the monitors at MIB, Mummy, and Hulk.) If you are refused by anyone from taking a picture with characters, please let guest services know.

Personal cameras can't be used in the queues or on the rides but, with characters, it is fine.

I didn't know this about the queues...have some from Spidey, but I did get told to put my camera away on Jurrasic Park outside in the water part. We never did do the mummy que or MIB, gonna have to do it this year just to see what it looks like!

We had photos made at the ET "photo opportunity" a year or two ago and were not allowed to use our own cameras. We were told that since this was set up like a photography "studio" (as opposed to a character meet and greet with one of the photographers present) that personal cameras were forbidden. :headache:

I would have liked to have used my own camera as well as purchasing the package offered by US because the photos weren't that great a quality considering the cost. In particular, the colours in the photos we received looked faded/washed out. :sad2:

I have one of the E.T. photo souvenirs of my little baby when he was two. His little feet only went half way to the pedals, but it is adorable and one of my most prized posessions. He is 12 now. Maybe I'll see if he'll get on for me next month and do a 10 years later shoot!
