Photobook?

I get photo book every year and I love them. I always think the quality is really great and they are easy to store and fun to show off to friends. I know I will get another this year. But I also do regular photo books through shutterfly for non Disney moments...

We've gotten one as part of the pre-paid PhotoPass package for the past few years. It's expensive, and you can probably do one cheaper with other services like Shutterfly, but we like the Disney backgrounds and other little tweeks you can do through Photopass.

I probably wouldn't pay full price for it, but with the pre-pay package discount we've been happy with it in the past.

I have made Photopass photobooks for the last 2 trips. The one before that was extreme budgeting (trying to convince DH Disney was within our means, I tihnk!) So on that trip, we still used Photopass, but I found a cheaper service for the book.

My experiences:
My 2009 non-Disney Disney photo book is awesome! I did not like the "preview" function, though. I wound up with the bottom of one line of text half on and off the page, because the preview was not clear, but overall, I still consider it awesome.

My 2010 Photopass book is great! I did it with my sister, we set the account up so that we could both work on it. I loved all the Disney embellishments you could add to the pages. The only thing I didn't like was that we wound up with some repeating backgrounds and layouts, just because they were a little limited in the number available, if you wanted a lot of pictures on each page.

By 2012, Photopass had noticeably enhanced its editing software. DSis and I had a ball rearranging the pages. We may have spent longer on the book than on the trip! But it was fun! I learned how to make a photo as a background and that cured the repetitive background issue! It was very nice software to work with, and the book turned out as good as the other two, or better.

Since then I have started putting some non-Disney pictures into photo books. The other services seem to be getting better all the time, also. Photo books are the way to go, imho! It's just a matter of which service you want to use. If you use Photopass, you will wind up with a highly Disneyfied book, which is kind of the point anyhow, lol. It also saves you uploading the pictures they took (but you'll still have to upload any of your own you want to use.) But I don't think you can go wrong either way!

Got one for our Nov. 2010 trip preordered type deal. Got home did the editing sent the onfo in, when we got the book the pages where not in the right place. Called them they looked it up and sent me a new book that was correct and told me to just destroy yhe book that was incorrect. If price is right will do it again just for the fact of the Disney cover, pages etc...

Thanks everyone! This convinced me! (doesn't take much does it... ) :rotfl2:

I actually already got it with the pre-paid photopass package but am upgrading to photopass plus. :cool1: I was asked if I wanted to keep it or just apply the credit to the photopass plus... I had second thoughts about keeping it but I guess I'll keep it and pay a little extra for photopass plus. :rotfl:

Good decision!

We got them last year and are hooked - my Disney vacay wouldn't be complete without one.

It was such fun to put together and I was really surprised at the quality, its excellent. Such a wonderful memento!

We got one last year and one this year. We love them. $80 is a bit high but the quality is great. I feel like they are more like cofee table books than the ones you get from shutterfly or snapfish. We keep ours out on display in the living room. All of the shutterfly type books we have are in the book case with our regular photo albums they just aren't nice enough to keep out all the time like the Disney photobooks are.

Had never considered getting the photo book in the past due to the cost.
However last year we made one up for MIL/FIL as there were 14 of us on a family reunion trip.
We held this back from the summer and gave them it as a Christmas present from the grandchildren . They were absolutely thrilled.

Just completed our own last week from our summer trip. Has shipped so hoping I will be here any day now :)

I actually got it in the pre-purchase package and it cost 149.95 for the photopass CD and the photobook... Then now that I'm changing it to Photopass plus, I think the total cost is 209.95... The pre-purchase price of photopass plus is 169.95 so that makes the photobook 40.00. I'm hoping that's a good deal. :rotfl:
