Time for a new subject: Your first onsite stay hotel!

1985. There were two Garden Wings and a dinner show where the California Grille is now.

April 2012. I had been to WDW more than 50 times prior to ever getting to stay on site. This was pretty cool for me.

I remember during our first visit in 1974 when we went through lobby on the Monorail for the very first time. We vowed we would have to stay there sometime 'when we could afford it.' After talking with different cast members, we found out we were paying the same price at a HoJo's that we would have spent staying at the Contemporary. We have stayed on property since then.

Another CBR from our very first family trip in 1990.

Here's our room reservation from that trip for a corner room - $104.50.

When we got there we found that we were the only people on the second floor of our building and we had a view of a courtyard and could walk to our car in two minutes and five minutes at most to Old Port Royale for our morning coffee.

I don't think there's anything close to that wonderful experience of your first trip, especially onsite. Sometimes I think we keep going back in an attempt to recreate that feeling!
