Im trying to come up with a list of daytime and nighttime "must have" photos for our trip. So far I have:

@ Night

In front of Mickey/Walt Statue with Christmas lights on Castle.

Outside the Teacups, with teacup spinning,

Main Street

Daytime

In the teacups spinning background with stationary subject.

Walt and Micky Statue

Main Street

But I need more than just 6 memorable shots!! Please help me make a list!!

I have not been there yet (1st timer) but I have been told there are ride vehicles outside some attractions for photo ops. My list so far is Dumbo, Peter Pan, Tea Cup, Autotopia, and Monsters Inc. There looks to be several vehicles over in toon town as well. Anyone want to add to the list???

Some DCA daytime suggestions if construction isn't in the way...
Bug's Land offers a few good photo opportunities because of the giant decor that's supposed to make you feel bug-sized.
Stand on the bridge over the lagoon and get Paradise Pier in the background.
There's a photopass spot along the main throughway that uses Grizzly Peak as the backdrop.
There's a cool airplane photo opportunity near Soarin'. They actually started using it as a character photo op this summer. Either way, it's a fun shot.

California Letters

Thanks guys, these are great!! Its hard trying to plan this stuff when I haven't been since I was 15. :scared1: You're help is much appreciated :goodvibes

Wait...I thought the letters got removed...didn't I hear that somewhere? Am I nuts?

No they are still there at the present time. I think they may be going away, but not yet.

Don't forget to get a shot in front of the Golden Gate bridge which also will be going away. We love to get on in front of Tower of Terror.

Facing the Castle, to the left on little bridge, gets water from mote and Castle with fewer people in it. It is a pretty perspective.

Pirates Lair

In front of Haunted Mansion

I had asked the same question on the photography board in Feb. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2385392

This was the list that I came up with at that time:
-Sleeping Beauty's Castle from the left side and misc.
-Remember Dreams Come True fireworks
-Disneyland Fire station at night (with WED apartment)
-Main Street night and day - long exposure
-Pixie Hollow at night
-The DCA "CALIFORNIA" sign panoramic
-Tower of Terror at night
-GRR mill wheel at night
-Paradise Pier area in DCA at night (CS and Fun Wheel) and Sunset with reflection in lagoon
-Indy queue inside and out
-Cave behind BTMRR
-Tomorrowland @ night (esp. Astro Orbiter)
-DCA lighthouse (taken from the Fun Wheel or carrousel area with GRR in background)
-Restroom signs
-It's a Small World at night
-Haunted Mansion
-Adventure Land and the Tiki Torches
-Obvious front of DL at night with the clock tower
-Peter Pan's Clock Tower at night
-Teacups at night under the lights with the Matterhorn in background
-Matterhorn from near space mountain
-DTD fountains.

We're going down in December so I'll be watching this list for new ideas. :cool1:

Look for the small details as you walk around the park. Those are things I take pictures of. Things I never noticed before.

Things I made of point of taking a picture of was DH in front of every different trash can we could find, and a picture of each bathroom sign (they are all different).

Thanks for the kind words.

We can't wait for the next trip in 71 days, but who counting. I'm really excited for all the Christmas decorations.

Counting, naw, nobody does that :rolleyes1

That shot looks professional!! You are really good with a camera, can I ask what kind of camera/lens you used?

Thanks!

I use a Canon XSi DSLR. I took the last photo as 9 different photos and stitched them together to get the final.

That is absolutly amazing, did you use a tripod? I too have an XSi and Im super stoked to see the images you were able to get with it (Im a newbie with mine). Do you have just the stock 18-55 lens? Im stuck withthat one until after our trip.... hubby wouldnt let me spend $600 on a better one.... pfft.... so not fair :rotfl:

I use a cullmann alpha 1500 tripod (it collapes to 15in.) that I got from BH Photo for $30US along with a Canon Remote Switch RS60.

I use the stock 18-55mm IS lens and the 55-250mm IS lens. I personally can't justify the more expensive lens, I want to go on too many Disney trips :)
