Thank you. Actually none of these are PP'd. I have both Elements 5.0 and Paint Shop Pro X but I'm yet to use either one on more than just a few pictures, I never seem to get around to doing any PP once I get my pictures downloaded (truth be told, I need to make the time to get over the learning curve of them both :teeth:).

I know exactly what you mean. I have trial versions of three or four PP programs downloaded but as yet, uninstalled, due to the learning curve. I am leaning toward PSP, but am using Picasa at present (shhh...don't tell anyone). Picasa is a free d/l, is very simple to use and, while it lacks some things I'd really like to have (noise removal, adjustable sharpening, and distorion compensation), it does a pretty good job, very quickly, and I have been amazed at the difference it makes in my photos, especially from my D50, since dSLR's generally do less in-camera PP to begin with.

Cool shots, glad that you had a great time!

One thing you might consider for the car shots is to hunker down a little more - at shows like that, it's tough to isolate one car from another, but I think you can get a more dramatic shot by shooting from a lower angle, and perhaps also use a larger aperture to get a smaller depth of field. Actually, some of my favorite car shots I've taken from far away very close to the ground, it gets the angle low enough that you can usually see all four tires.

But, that's just my taste. Maybe I think of it more because I'm tall enough that my car shots taken standing can look like they're taken from pretty high sometimes!

Thanks for the compliments everyone and Groucho, thanks for the tips on the car shots, that makes a lot of sense to "hunker down" more as you explained it. I rarely go to a car show and I felt very much like the amateur that I am at this one and I was also wishing that I had brought my polarizer because there was a lot of glare and I'm guessing the polarizer would have helped. I've never been on a vacation where I've had so much sun and so many shadows to deal with, guess that's the joy of living in Arizona and southern California, lots of sunshine year round.:sunny:

Hey all. I went to the zoo last weekend with my family to celebrate my parents 34th wedding anniversary and snapped some pics throughout the day. Here's a few.

Enjoy.

Great photos! We used to go to the San Diego zoo a lot when we lived in Southern Cali. It is an amazing place. We are hoping to be able to go back next summer... both to Southern Cali and the zoo.

Thanks for sharing your photos.

Nice photos for sure. We were there just one month ago today. What a great place! Clyde never gave me as good a pose as he apparently did for you though.......

Where are the penguins? I can't respect your photography if there are no penguins. :) j/k Those are all great.

You're quite welcome! I live just a short drive to the zoo, well at least for the next two weeks, then I'm off to Australia, but it's nice to go and hang out whenever you feel like it.

Thanks! Which is Clyde? I'd assume it's one of the apes?

Great photos.

Thanks!
