Very nice, I like the tiger photos & your children are cute.

Nice! I really like the Croc-a-gator (word my friend made up when you can't tell what it really is ;) ) The chimp portrait is very nice as well.

I love this - talk about "chillin". Also I agree about your kiddos - way cute!

Nice animal shots. Including the last one. hehehehehee

Zoo Atlanta reminded me of a small Animal Kingdom. All the paths had leaves embossed in the concrete. The signage was similar, maybe even better than AK. Food carts were similar (with better prices).

The goats in the petting zoo butted heads the whole time we were there.

I wonder what is going through his head.

This aquarium was okay, not great. It's pricey and way too crowded (lots and lots and lots of school groups, I hear the weekends aren't much better). The exhibits are not designed to handle the crowds. The main tank is spectacular though.

Wonderful shots. I am ashamed to admit it, but we live in Birmingham, which is less than three hours away, and have never been to either (although we did make White Water Park in Marietta last summer!). We probably need to plan a weekend trip this summer.

Thanks for sharing those images (and for starting the gears turning in my head!).

Great jellyfish!!! You got very good colors at the aquarium.
My dad lives in Atlanta. Next time we visit him, I'll have to suggest a trip to the zoo.

I have been to the Georgia Aquarium and it was great. I thought they did a great job managing the crowds. I was there several weeks after it opened and have made several visits since then.

Great shots!

I agree with you about the aquarium-- I'm just not that impressed with it, either.

love the turtle shot...
OT our aquarium is part of our ( cleveland) zoo so like maybe 10-15 little tanks at least it's usually pretty empty( people not tanks) but i would love to go to a nice one to shoot...any have some toward to eastern part of USA that they like? i've been to toledo's which is a little better

I think the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga is very good.

We are very fortunate to have 3 aquariums here in North Carolina (Fort Fischer, Pine Knoll Shores, and Manteo) and while smaller than the Georgia Aquarium they are very good. I'd much rather go to any of these 3 than the Georgia Aquarium again. Though, I'd put the Georgia Aquarium slightly above the National Aquarium in Baltimore just because it presents the collection more educationally.

My favorite aquarium is still the Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach. It's well planed, well maintained and can handle large crowds with far better ease. Their tropical fish collection is far better which makes for more interesting photo opportunities. I've heard similar praises for the Ripley's Aquarium in Pidgin Forge Tennessee.

Went to the Toronto Zoo this past weekend and took along my new Fuji S700 p/s. It has a 10x zoom.

Here are some of the results. What do you think??

Thanks.

Nice series- I love the second one- very sharp!

I think you got some wonderful pix, Dave. In good light, a "superzoom" PnS can deliver outstanding results. Thanks for sharing these!

Point and shoots have come along way. Nice pictures, enjoy your camera. :)

Since I see others posting their local zoo and aquirium pics I thought I would share some of my favorites. These were taken with my Sony DSC-H9 Camera. It has 8.1 mg with a 15x zoom. These are all from the NC State Zoo.

These birds were just so stunning to me
