My favorite duck, the black-bellied whistling duck, captured at Green Cay Wetlands during my birding safari...I shot a series of burst shots - these are the 'bookends' of a 10-frame burst of the fly-by. Shot with my Sony A550 and Minolta 300mm F4 APO G lens:

It was making its trademark whistle to alert the others of my presence as it buzzed close by.

Secondly, those duck shots are amazing. I can't believe how crisp those shots are (especially at that range of a moving object). Awesome capture!!!

So, yesterday I went to the Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I took a bunch of pictures of flowers. I think these are my two best (I couldn't decide between them)

great photos! i live about 10 minutes away from the meijer gardens! i love their sculpture park!!
i looked at your food blog! i love the blue water grill too! next time you're in the area, you should check out the honey creek inn, in cannonsburg. its pretty casual but its yum!

also, my mom will be opening a bakery in a small town outside of grand rapids (October!) and she will be carrying her own breads and homemade ice cream! The website isn't up yet i don't think but check back! SHe's amazing. http://www.otiscobakeryandbasics.com

Lol, I too, took some senior picture, though, they're not as good as your's, squee!! disney!!. But for someone whose hasn't done a lot of portraits, I think mine came out pretty decent. The first one is my younger nephew's half sister, and the second one is my older nephew.

A flash may have went off, but I mostly used the sun as it was sometime in the afternoon, and thank you for the complement.

Hi, I'm new to the photography boards (although I occasionally lurk).

I'm loving the wonderful advice and beautiful pics and thought I'd share a couple of mine from our WDW trip a few weeks ago.
