can you post the exif data? what lens did you use? excellent definition in this image.

Thank you sir. Certainly.....I used a tripod and also used mirror up to prevent any excess vibrations.

D300
Nikon 70-300VR @ 300mm (VR off)
Aperture priority
Spot metering
f/8
1/125 sec
ISO 100 (equiv)
100% crop

Danny, did you add any sharpening to the image? It looks to be a little on the sharper side. I know the 70-300mm VR is pretty sharp.

Nicely done overall.
I'll have to try that tonight. I think its supposed to be clear enough.

Hi all. I am new to this thread but I do love my pictures. You all do a verry good job. Nice pictures. Here is the one I like most from this past Saturday that I took.

Kyle.....Thanks. I didn't apply any extra sharpening other than what was done in-camera with the Vivid picture control setting. When converting from NEF, I applied my standard amount of USM (40, 5, 0 if you're using CNX2) and cropped at 100%.

That lens has always been exceptionally sharp, especially when stopped down. Hope to see yours after tonight. No more for me since we've had clouds and rain since yesterday.

A few I took yesterday of my youngest for a fall scrapbook page titled 'Trees make the best mobiles'.

Here are a few from yesterday. Had time to myself so I took a drive up to Portland, Maine. Not as far of a drive as I thought, and it was definitely worth it (plus on the way home I stopped for dinner at the Maine Diner!!!!):

Thanks.

They have great food. Its one of those places that SHOULD be featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network. I know they've been featured on the Today Show on NBC.

I was VERY tempted to get the Cookie Dough Pie for desert, but I was very full from my meal. The Seafood Chowdah was out of this world! Big huge chunks of scallops and lobstah (real lobstah, not that imitation crap!!) and shrimp and great flavor!!!!!

Nice shots Kyle I like them a lot, they came out really good, I haven't been able to get on the boards in a week, had a Blue screen of death on my computer last week and finally got things up and running again. If you ever get up this way again for a day let me know and maybe we can meet up.

Too bad about the computer.

I'll let you know if I head up that way again. I still want to get over to York for sunset one of these days. Not sure when I'll be able to do it.

I'll also be on the watch for next years open house at Portsmouth Light. We can try and set up another Dis outing for that.
