nice results Mike! ^^^

Thank you :thumbsup2

Woke up early this morning to catch the sunrise down at the beach in Ft Lauderdale and take the A99 out for a test drive. Got there a little late and had to rush around before I lost the light and on top of that I just had to pick the day they were running the marathon so had to battle the crowds and traffic. Never the less got some decent keepers

Mike, I really like the colors in that sunrise shot. The one thing you have to be careful with is the one eye in focus portraits with that FF DOF. When your used to shooting at f2 or so with a crop, your better off at 2.8 or 3.2 on that FF. I'm just saying don't get carried away with too thin of DOF.

I was just messing around with that shot in the car while heading to the mall. I actually got one that was focused right in between her eyes so both were just about in focus but she making an angry face for that one so didnt post it lol

SO the idiot I bought the Sigma 17-35mm on Amazon from emails me to let me know he accidentally mislabeled the item and it was a Canon mount and not a Sony mount.

At least he figured it out before shipping it to you.

You've been getting great shots with the 50. Isn't it amazing how 50 practically is wide angle on ff?

Very true.

Thanks Adam. I did find that yesterday morning while shooting the 50 I was having to back up a lot and wanting more in frame so I now know for sure that I want something wider. Looking around online now for something.

One thing that I love about this camera is that I was able to pick it up and start shooting and it felt the same as the A55 as far as shooting and the setting are concerned but totally upgraded. Once I reset the camera and adjusted things to my liking it was smooth sailing from there. It really helped that the menus on the A99 are pretty much the same as the A55 so really the only thing getting used to what the button layout and caught on pretty quickly. I still haven't explored too much with a lot of the different settings and features yet so cant comment on those yet.

I will say the wheel on the front below the shutter button could be out a little further, I find that sometimes I got to adjust and mt finger slips over it a little without changing the setting.
