I haven't been on the Photo board in ages... moved the kid out to FL in May, then went back out, and of course just the busy-ness of summer... but I've been enjoying my Alpha immensely!!

I am new to the photography board and was pleased to see the Sony Alpha series thread. I have been taking many shots with the camera and truely enjoy the camera. I don't have all the settings down by no means. I recently purchased the 18 - 250 lens and trying to get the feel for it, so I'm ready for our upcoming WDW trip in Dec. I've enjoyed ready thru all the posts and the great pictures and hope that I can add to them also, once I know the new lens and settings better. I'm sure I'll have many questions.

Welcome to our forum, DznyFan and Steamboat209!

I look forward to seeing more of your pictures!

I thought that I'd share a picture taken this morning from my deck. The photo makes me a little sad since it reminds me that summer is really over.

What lens and settings were you using?

Thanks! I went back to my post and added the info. I hadn't realized that I chose pics all from different lenses.

Hi - I'm Kathy and I'm a lens junkie! :rotfl:

Beautiful pictures, Kathy! Where did you take the picture of the Indian?

Thanks Heidi! The Indian was outside of the candy shoppe in Frontierland. I think I remember it being a western/memorabilia store years ago.

I just got it in today! :cool1: But, I'm so used to taking pictures with my Kodak Easyshare by using the LCD screen instead of using the viewfinder every time. For the life of me, I can't find anything that shows if I can do this with the 230L.

Everything refers to looking through the viewfinder to actually take the shot. So, is this correct? Just wanted to find out if I'm missing something. If there's not a way to take the shot by utilizing the LCD, I guess I'll get used to it. :confused3

Congratulations Stargazer! No, you're not missing anything. The A230 has only the viewfinder for composing the shots. It is the A330 and the A380 have both viewfinders and live view (ie, LCD screen). I know that since getting my A700 I now have a hard time when I use a P&S and have to use the screen. I almost always start to put it up to my face until I remember there isn't a viewfinder!

I think that I mentioned that I love sunsets; so, I thought that I'd post the sunset off my deck tonight (no photoshop).

I have been very busy with my photopass pictures lately. I honestly didn't think that we had that many pictures taken (there's almost 400 of them).

Here's one more picture from our trip. I took this after 2 rides on Splash Mountain duing EMH at MK.
