Photo Sharing: Olympus, 4:3, Micro 4:3

Wide angle is next on my list also.

Kim, where are Felix pics? Remy's waiting!

By the time I got to the beach after this storm had moved away, the lightning had pretty much stopped. Mother Nature at least let me have one shot..lol

:wizard:That's a beautiful shot Mr.MouseFan!

Here's one from our band competition yesterday. I think I'm going to get the 12-60mm lens--will I be able to get the whole band in the picture without the opposite stadium showing behind them (top of pic) and the wasted space in the bottom of the pictures?

Thanks!

Kim, I think if you want to get rid of the wasted space on top and bottom, you'll have to just crop it out. If you zoom in to 60mm from there, you'll end up cutting off the sides too, not just the top and bottom.

I just stepped outside and took a pic at 40mm (which is the focal length of your picture) and then zoomed in to 60. You can see how you will cut off the image from all 4 sides. In both pics, I focused on the top of the white bucket behind the pine tree.

Hope this helps!:)

Thanks Lynn! I hope to be higher in the stadium to look down on the field too.

Hey Guys. Joe I saw your other thread but I thought I would put my thoughts here for others who may be thinking about the same thing.

The whole Olympus drama was sad to hear. My first thought, like I'm sure everyone else's was, was that maybe this would be the time to bail.

But to be honest, I have no desire to use anything other than the Olympus gear I love, and thinking about using something else makes me feel like I don't even want to do photography any more.

So after giving it much thought and talking it over with my DH, I've made the decision to not worry about it; to enjoy my equipment the way I always have. I'd still like to pick up a PEN and I'd love to get my hands on an E5. These, along with what I already have, will last me a good, long time. Hopefully service will be available even if the worst happens. But I'm kind of thinking it wont - that someone will either buy the camera division or they'll figure out a way to turn it around since the people of Japan and others seem to care about its future.

Others may feel differently and I wouldn't blame anyone for making a move.

Your thoughts?

I most likely won't bail at this point as I've already got too much invested in Oly gear. I doubt I'll be picking up anymore 4/3 gear until this whole mess shakes out, for better or worse.

If I do decide to go the m4/3 route at some point, I may switch over to a Panasonic body with a mix of Olympus and Panasonic lenses.

That is my plan, pick and choose from the best of the m4/3 lenses for my Panasonic G3. The next buy is likely to be Olympus really nice 9-18. I can see Olympus either reorganizing or some other camera/electronics manufacturer buying Olympus' camera business. I really don't see them getting out altogether.

I do not see a thread for Panasonic. I could start one but instead maybe we could expand this thread to include all 4/3 and m4/3 ?

Absolutely. I can change the title, thanks.

WOW, that was fast! :)

Here is a cross-posting of one of my favorite subjects, Noel.

The G3 has not been to WDW yet, I will correct that before the year is over! ;)
