Those are great, Kim. :thumbsup2

Have enjoyed the rest of the pics on this page as well.

I've been posting a lot of mine on the Scavenger Hunt thread. I'll have to save a few for here.

I got to try out a PEN belonging to a fellow shutter bug I met on July 4th. It was an EPL1 IIR. I liked it a lot.

What's everyone's opinion on the 14-54mm lens and would you consider $350 a decent price used?

And another question...my mode dial has been giving me some trouble lately. If I turn it to A or P, it will change to something else, like one of the preset modes under scene. Anyone else have this happen? I've got the E510.

Thanks!

That seems to be a very good price from what I've seen about that lens. Is it the older or newer version? Both get very good reviews.

That being said, I don't think you would see much difference in photos taken with the kit lens and the 14-54 outside on sunny days. Your main advantage would be the faster lens of the 14-54 in low light, especially I would imagine, with the 510 where you would be able to shoot low light pics at lower ISO's.

I have the 12-60 and I recently put the kit lens back on my 600 and I was unable to get some shots I wanted because it wouldn't lock focus in lower light. I hadn't had any trouble using the 12-60.

I haven't had any problem with the mode dial on any of my cameras. Is the dial actually moving or does it seem to be an internal problem? You can probably call Oly service and they may be able to give you a ballpark figure on repair. Or do a search for that problem on Dpreview to see if anyone else had had that problem. Or it may be time to upgrade? ;)

I have that lens, Kim. And I paid about the same amount on Craigslist. Mine is the older version. It's a good lens, but I think the one Lynn has, the 12-60, gets better reviews. But it will certainly be a good lens for you, and better than the kit lens, especially in low light, and is a nice portrait lens.

I have the 510 too (actually a friend borrowed it in the spring and I haven't seen it since, lol) and I've never had that problem. I agree, maybe it's time for an upgrade.

It's the original version of the lens--I've read that the 12-60 is the better lens, but this one is local on craigslist.

The mode dial is tight---it seems to be internal.

Did anyone else see the rumors about a possible E-50 before the end of the year?
