Got some great shots on the safari at animal kingdom. I love that they changed it so it's easier to take pictures.

dcg0317.....I finally found some time to try out the 100 macro lens.


I found this in my back garden and it was pretty low to the ground, so I didn't use a tripod. I did use auto focus, not manual. I've been playing around with manual focus and haven't really been successful with it.




ISO 100, f/7.1, 1/40 sec

I wanted the dandelion flower to pop a bit more; so I went with a top-down view (instead of side on), and changed the settings...

ISO 1600, f/10, 1/100 sec

I probably could have gone with a lower ISO setting; but that part of the garden was in shade and I was finding that I needed a shutter speed of 1/100 in order to get a reasonably sharp shot.


Moving in even closer...same settings of ISO 1600, f/10, 1/100 sec

Thanks for the tips! I'll keep playing around with this lens. It's springtime here; so I might see how I go with it. Thanks again.
