The park is probably very different than you remember, it has changed a lot even in the last 5 years! The monorail system is out and a new van system is in place. While this lets you get closer to the animals it cut off a good percentage of the area you saw. Thats why the photo caravan is so great. You are down in with the animals and it is a lot of fun, I would do the longer one if given the choice.
I also recommend walking to the elephants, there are quite a few little ones and they are really really cute!

I am not sure what time of year you are going, but it can get very hoy out there, but there is shade.
The lions are also a not to be missed, they are usually pretty close to the glass and they are cool to see up close. If you are a fan of bird and such, the heart of africa is a great place to roam. It is usually quiet down there and peaceful. If you but some of the food the have it's fun to feed the ducks, but they also have some rather large catfish in the pond (I AM TALKING HUGE) It's fun to see them try to get the food. (The brought the catfish in about 15-20 years ago to clear up a carp problem they were having, they now have a catfish probelm

)
Have fun! As you might remember it is a very unique park and not like any zoo, I hope you enjoy your trip! I have 2 discount coupons ($5 off adult) tickets that you are welcome to, I know sometimes they have better deals online. Just private message me...
