photo processing

really, I didn't know they had such a thing, what is the difference if I may ask..??

Nor did I. I'm beginning to develop a bit of an inferiority complex as no one has ever refused to print my photos believing them to be professional. :rotfl2:

I haven't actually used their pro side yet, but it's called Miller's. They offer larger prints, web hosting for online proofing, albums, free outbound shipping (overnight FedEx), more photo finishing options, and different ordering solutions. These are just from the list that they sent me. They say "here are a few examples..." I'm in the process of getting my sales tax ID, so once I have that, I can use the pro side.

thanks, that's interesting....everything I had read just implied that mpix was just the digital/online arm of Millers..

so if you need your tax id to use that side, do they offer wholesale prices that are even better than mpix prices...???

I was thinking the same thing... but then again hassle free processing is a good thing...:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

From what I understand, yes on the better prices. Although, I think mpix has pretty good prices for the services they provide.

And mpix is considered the "general public" side of Miller's.

Another printer I use is White House Custom Color. They allow you to print 5 8x10s for free as test prints. Their minimum order is $12, but they never charge shipping. I just had some black and whites printed on their metallic paper and they were gorgeous.

any particular reason you were doing that...LOL:lmao: :lmao:

i've never done it. it doesn't work with australian money - but then again ours is the hardest to counterfeit (and who would want our notes anyway...) i just know from reading forums. i think it's quite funny :lmao:

Copyright enforcement is ridiculous over here. The whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing is completely out thanks to efforts by the RIAA, MPAA, and so on - obviously it's now up to the consumer to prove that they're not breaking the law rather than the copyright holders to prove that they are.

Just last night, I tried, for the first time, playing an HD-DVD on my HD projector in my home theater and got an HDCP error. Because of copy protection, I may be forced to buy a new video card, HDMI to DVI adapter, AND maybe even a whole new projector - yet non-copy-protected HD content works perfectly. Thanks folks!    This DRM stuff is really infuriating.

a bit ot but husband bought a cd and wanted me to put it on his ipod since that's what he takes to work and we rarely listen to cds at home, he just listens to his ipod..it somehow is protected so you can only play it on a cd player and not transfer it to itunes...when i questioned the company about it they basically said "tough snikeys we can do anything we want" so i said ok then i don't have to buy from your company:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Software vendors overstepping their bounds.
Which makes me wonder, what will Photoshop do with a scan of a Disney Dollar? :)

Just curious -- what happens?

Evidently an error message pops up indicating that the software cannot be used to access images of currency. As I understand it, PS as well as some newer copiers and scanners search for certain algorithms to identify the $$, which is why it only happens with certain forms of currency. From what I can tell, the supposedly Orwellian nature of this caused quite a frenzy on some message boards. ;)
