Hi! I'm from NS and am making our first trip to WDW in August. I have read about the photopass cd, and how it is available for purchase in advance. I was wondering if it is worth the price, which I think is $99.95 advance purchase online. Is it hard to find the photographers? Does it take time away from the day that would be better spent doing attractions and taking our own photos? Also, what if we do not end up taking enough photopass pictures to justify paying the price for the CD, but have already paid the $99. I appreciate any and all comments and information!!!:goodvibes

Our first trip to the world was 3 years ago. We saw photograpers everywhere! Once home, I went online to view our photo pass photos. There were SO many, and were $12.99 USD each! I could not afford to get them all, so had to turn some down. That was really hard to do!
I too am pre-buying the CD this time around (if it was available for our first trip, I never knew about it). I'm also participating in a Photo pass share this time, which is a bunch of people traveling at the same time or within a few weeks of each other, sharing the CD cost, but everyone ends up with ALL their own photos. We disers are no longer allowed to post asking if people want to share like that, as there is money involved. So I think, maybe if you are interested in that, Post something like "who else is traveling"....and put in your month or your dates, then pm people and say that way, that you would like to start a photo pass share group, if anyone is interested, pm you back.

Mod's if this way isn't allowed, let us know

Anyway, again, I truly think the Photo Pass CD is Worth the money. Just make sure you take advantage of the photo pass photographers.:)

Thanks! With the sharing, I'm assuming there is no limit to the number of photos that can be put on a CD? If there is a limit, I would be worried about not getting as many pictures of us if we were sharing. But if there is no limit, then sharing the CD sounds like an excellent idea!:thumbsup2

No limit on the number of pictures that you can have on your CD. You can edit the same photo many times over, and end up with many copies of the same photo edited in different ways, and still pay only what you paid for the CD. ALSO, if you end up with more pictures than the one CD can hold, photo pass will put them on extra CD's at NO EXTRA COST!

I'm travelling down there in Sept from PEI and purchased my photopass today.

There was a promo code listed in another forum that put the price of the prepaid pass at $84.96 (US of course). The code is 9VISARD15 . Just a suggestion if you aren't comfortable with sharing. The price will be jumping up to $149.95 US on June 16th.

Thanks for the info. We have never pre ordered the CD but always buy it. How does it work then? Do you just log in to the site with the photopass card you are given? Do you only have a certain amount of time to order the cd or edit your pictures before they send it to you? Thanks in advance!

ok, I have another question, I read somewhere that when you pre order the cd you only have 60 days to use it and order. Is that correct? We're going in August so would love to order before the price goes up but don't want to end up without one if we pre order and then it expires before we can order once home and done all the editing. Thanks in advance for the help.

The pre-purchase price is jumping up to $149.95? I thought it was $99.95 for pre-purchase and $149.95 after trip. Are both prices going up?

I read that too, so I'm not sure I'll be using the code just in case, although I'd like to get the deal. I read somewhere that sometimes if you call they will extend it, but I don't think it's guaranteed. I'm hoping that a new code will come along before we leave on August 19 so I can take advantage of a discount!pixiedust:

When you pre order from photo pass online, they email you a code. Yes you will have only 60 days to use the code in. So order it a few days to a week before your trip dates. THey email it almost right away, and send several emails to make sure you got it (from what I hear).
When you return from your trip, go to the photo pass site online, enter all your photo pass card numbers you received while in Disney World. Pick and edit all the photos you want. When you are ready to go the checkout, it will have a total for all your pictures, but it will ask if you have a promo code. Enter your code then, and the balance turns to ZERO!

I just got off the phone after speaking with Mike, from Photo Pass, and he said my pre order of the CD (that I purchased 2 days ago) should still be good when I travel on Sept 22 - Oct 2 (more than 90 days out). He said if after I got back, the code doesn't work, just call them and they will reset it.

I'm putting my faith in Mike, that he will follow through!

Maybe, it's once you ACCESS or input photo pass numbers, to the photo pass site, you THEN, have only 30 days in which to place your order. I've just emailed PHOTO PASS to ask this exact question as well as "If I purchase the pre-ordered CD and Photo Album now, will it still be good for me to use upon returning from our trip in 5 months from now". I'll post here the response.

We pre-purchased the CD and it was awesome. Not only was it great to have so many photos but it was delivered in a couple of days after I ordered it.

Totally worth it.

That's good news! I hope Mike knows what he's talking about! That makes me want to order it now too, to use the code.

Here's the reply I just got, and based on it, you can only do the pre-purchase IF you get an email inviting you to?

Greetings Judy ,

Thank you for your recent visit to DisneyPhotoPass.com.

The pre-purchase offer is made available through the marketing
department of Disney Destinations. In order to receive this prepurchase
offer, the guest must meet the following guidelines:

-Have an upcoming reservation in a Walt Disney World Hotel

-Have their email address on file in the marketing database

-Have opted in to receive email from the Walt Disney World company

If you meet these requirements, you can expect to see this email about
10 days prior to your arrival. Once you have received this email, you
are within a safe time frame in which to make your prepurchase without
worry that your promotion code/s will expire.

If you do not receive this offer, it could be because your email address
is not on file and/or permission was not granted to send marketing
messages to you. Also, if you booked through a travel agent, we may not
have your email address in our database. The pre-arrival offer is meant
for guests who purchase before their trip.

If you have lost your offer, we regret that we are not able to replace
or extend this invitation as this offer is not sent out by Disney Photo
Imaging.

Sincerely,

Michelle

That's kind of odd! I've read about lots of people using the pre-purchase, without having gotten the e-mail themselves, and it works for them. This thing gets more confusing every day!:laughing:

Where has it been seen that the pre order prices are increasing? I'd like to see the site myself.

You do not need to receive an email invite. I just pre-ordered one the other day for our Aug vacation using the coupon code provided in a previouse email.
I beleive you save by pre-ordering - and that coupon code allows you to double save (an additional 15% off!) making CD only $85 - reg $130 I think. You can actually upload some of your own photos onto the site to add to your order (eg - put in book etc) Coupon code works as well for preorder of photo book / cd combo.
The photo site is really cool as you can add disney borders and stamps to your pics, edit pics .... and of course order some really cool products!

Anyway - no where on the email I received did it specify the code they sent me had to be used in a certain time. It did say if you were unhappy w/ your pics - you could get a full refund if your order had not yet been placed..... so I think there is no chance at all of losing your money!

Here is their satisfaction guarantee:

Satisfaction Guarantee/Return Policy: By taking advantage of Disney's PhotoCD plus Photo Book Pre-Arrival Savings Offer, you are guaranteed to get a great value on our most popular memory keepsakes. This e-mail contains your two promotion codes. You will use these codes to get all Disney's PhotoPass images in your account on an archive quality CD as well as a copyright release that allows you to reprint and use your images in the sizes and formats that you wish, plus you will use the second code to order a Professional Photo Book. You must purchase the pre-arrival offer before your vacation and then order your CD or CD + Book after your vacation. The promotion codes cannot be combined with any other offers. You must order your PhotoCD and Photo Book in separate orders. Coupon codes do not include cost of shipping, sales tax (if applicable), or additional Photo Book pages. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the photos and decide that you no longer want to order your Disney's PhotoCD or Photo Book, just let us know and you will receive a full refund. To receive a refund, you must request it within 2 weeks after the completion of your Disney vacation and you must not use the special promotion code to order Disney's PhotoCD or Photo Book. If the promotion code has been used, a refund will not be granted.

Do you have the code available that you used to get it for $80 something? The code posted on this thread a few posts back, I tried, but it's for Disney Visa holders only (gives an additional 20 something off the 99 pre order price.
We don't travel till October. If I purchased the pre-order NOW, do you think it would still be good for my October/Nov. Trip?

Thanks for posting the e-mail! It finalized my decision to order them and I just did! I'm so excited!!
