There is also absolutely no way for CMs to look at letters and know that they are actually from a doctor. Anyone can create letterhead and claim it's from a doctor and fake a signature. Even if you ask for licensing info, is WDW going to be able to get licensing info for every single doctor in the world?

As a side note, in most states there is absolutely nothing that says you need to hand over your photo ID to be copied or let them take your photo for your chart. My mother went and checked this with the states of both CT and MA (we live right by the border so see doctors in both states) and in neither state do they have any legal standing to make it required that they have any photo of you in your records. Both my parents no longer let doctors copy their photo ID or take any photos. They'll show their photo ID (I think that part is the part that is most likely to be a legal requirement), but they do not even hand it to the office people. They do, of course, let the office copy their insurance cards.

In my particular situation it was a fertility specialist. They had problems in the past with people trying to use insurance tht didn't belong to them. Since these treatment can cause tens of thousands of dollars a month people can be tempted to let their sister or brother use their insurance. I never said it was a state requirement just an office policy and if you didn't like it you were free to go to a different clinic. I had no problem with it especially if it helped keep costs down.

I was only mentioning it because several medical offices near me try to claim it's a state law. Here it's every doctor's office that at least asks. So far no office has actually turned any of my family away when they refused to let the copy happen. We have no problem showing photo ID along with the insurance card at every visit, which should be just as effective. I don't have any problem if a clinic has it as policy and informs patients when they make the appointment if they will actually refuse to see someone who won't let them put a photo in their chart. It's the fact that most people don't know that they have the option to refuse that bothers me (along with the offices that flat out lied about the legal requirement).

I think there should be proof given. My son has ODD AHDH and Aspergers. This card saved our trip. Our pediatrician told us about the program. And just wrote out a note on perscription paper and signed it. If you are in a serious enough condition to need the GAC then you should also be under a doctors care.

Our local library has software that deletes everything, that was done on the pc daily,every night. Why couldn't disney do something similar with the information.

They could even use black and white images to cut down on cost.

Shame on anyone who abuses the pass. I know it would not be possible for my family to go if it weren't for the pass. I also always bring a letter from our doctor as a back up.

There is no way a doctors note would work its too easy to make a fake letterhead or prescription. I also don't mine telling someone what accommodation I need but I do not want everyone knowing exactly what my medical issues are. I also don't think people using other people's GACs is done often enough to make a big deal about it if they are willing to use another's GAC then they can just go lie to get their own
